Any help, please?

I live near Fairfax, VA

I have a 2012 EVO MR and just purchased the upgrades I want to do for it.... but I have no idea how to do any car work I know, I know, embarassing.... but I would genuinely like to learn!

Since this is my new car and I have never done any mod work - I don't want to 'practice' by myself and risk doing any serious damage....I wanted to see if anyone experienced wants to help install and teach me LOL (and we can talk $$ of course) or rcmd a reasonable, reputable shop (I live in Centreville so I already know about Moore & PTuning as an option if nobody wants to help).

I bought the COBB AccessPort which I can do myself of course but I needed help installing the following:

1. COBB Quad-tip Cat-Back
2. AMS Performance Intake
3. Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
4. AEM Analog Boost Gauge

I figured since I've read on here that these are easier than most mods, I wanted to see if I could be a part of the action.

Everyone has to learn at some time but I don't want to 'practice' by myself on my new $40K car... so please be nice and refrain from making too much fun of me kthx!!

Gracias!

I can help. I've got a the original Cobb dual tip catback and I also have the AMS intake. I live in Fredericksburg though if that makes any difference.

If you're Cobb catback was anything like mine though, the stock catalytic converter's heat shielding will get in the way of connecting it flush. So you either have to take that heat shielding off which in my opinion isn't worth it, or get a high flow cat or test pipe. I like my Cobb high flow cat. No CEL and no test pipe exhaust smell.

Hey bro I just moved here to Arlington and could help you out, and honestly ditch the Cobb access port because you don't need it. The stock computer has been decoded enough to make it as useful as a full stand alone. Plus the mods you want to install are hella easy. The exhaust can be a pain but only because evos are known for breaking exhaust bolts near the Turbo.

Thank you both for offering, I really do appreciate it. I met another Member on here last week at the FFX event who also offered to help. I just ordered all of the parts yesterday so it is going to take a week or two to come in. I will keep you posted when they arrive.

Did you guys both install your own mods?

4B11AWD - thank you for the heads up about the fitment. I contacted AMS to ask them if they know if it is the same for mine or if i need to contact COBB. i prefer to have all the parts/organized when going to do this.

EVORS06 - I went with AMS b/c I am originally from Chicago (moved to NoVA 5 yrs ago) and when I first fell in love with the EVO, 2003 - I have had a lot of friends over the years use AMS and (forutnately) have never heard anything bad. When I think of EVO Tuner, the first name that comes to my mind is AMS. I feel very comfortable with them and yesterday was my first personal experience and it was extremely positive. I spoke with Dan and he was very nice and very helpful. I never felt like he was pressuring me to buy things, he actually talked me out of a couple of things, LOL. Immediately after getting off the phone with them both Dan and their tuner, Mitch were already emailing me with updates and plans.

So far, I am really happy with my decision
