Last year in September/October, who was the guy who had his evo in the shop for a clutch change with only 2,400 miles on the odometer? I had my car in for oil change and I saw your clutch. That thing had been HURT! The dealership (Hall Mitsubishi) said that the owner had admited that he was drag racing it and that he was practicing high RPM launches. They charged something like $3,400 to replace clutch/flywheel/pressure plate/throwout bearing.

i heard about that i brought my evo from the same dealer and they warn me about dumping the clutch athigh rpm because of what happen to that guy. but i still had to find out from myself. i did it once and all i smelled was the burnt clutch so i never did it again and the car doesnt even go when you do that. i learn to dump it around 2.5 and it will take off good

I'll be in town around the night of the 36th / morning of the 27th of this month. Me and my girlfriend are moving over there, and we really need a place to crash (hotel, someone's place, etc.). I know that the tourist season is about over, but every place I've looked into is still over $100 a night. Any suggestions or hook-ups? Plus, we'd love to meet up with you guys and get to know some people in the area. All the friends I have in VA are currently deployed (military) and I don't want her to be bummed and all when I have to start going to work at the beginning of October. So....You guys get your girlfriends/girl friends/sisters/whoever to all come out so that you can help her make some friends.

 

well i don't think i can help you with the girlfriends/girlfriends/sister thing cuz i ain't got any. but for a hotel around military hwy there are couple hotels like the ramada, motel 6, etc. they'll probably be around 50 to 60 somethin. but tell them that it's for one person only (it's cheaper) and ask for military discount. and it should help if you get it in advance i think. don't quote me on the last thing.

 

Hey all, I'm back from NY and would love to get together with a bunch of other Evo owners. Princess Anne Park is literally 5 minutes from my house, so I think that's a great place to do this. There's also that one road that goes down to the Amphitheater that's kinda straight with a hairpin at the end - I know I've done more than a few "demos" for friends down that road. Does anyone know if there's a show scheduled at the amphitheather that weekend? If so, we might want to pick a different place.

i cant go im going to be gone for a month going down to the gulf area but i guess when i come back ill meet up with some of yous.

 

My plans are to go down to Gulfport, MS this next Thursday and stay there until Saturday morning. On Saturday, I will be driving up to the VA Beach area.

Chueks, were you at the Naval Base yesterday? If so I think I saw your car as I was leaving to head back to my office in Portsmouth.

 

i was on base on friday but i had duty so i couldn't drive it. basically it was parked. but that day i also saw another silver evo in the morning. the guy looked like he was in his 30s or so.
