wheel/tire mounting in Chicago suburbs??

Any good decent place to mount new tires to the stock wheel in chicago suburbs area? I'm planning to order new tires and need to mount them.

Discount tire in Palatine said $140.

I strongly recommend KO Tire in Elk Grove. It's a small shop, but they do great work and are reasonably priced. (They're also a recommended Tire Rack installer).

I second that!!! K.O. Tire is awesome.

They are real careful when they put tires on, especially when they have reinforced sidewalls like Falken Azeni Sports. They also promise that they will not scratch your wheels, and they are not too far from AMS.

Yeah, I have gone there b4. I can't remember what the price was to mount and balance the wheels, but it was way under $140.

Mounted and balanced four tires at KO late last year (was on our other car...not the EVO)..... $59 for all four.

They're great.....can't go wrong. Call them for an appointment.....they're typically booked up these days (winter tire swaps, etc...)

$140 is obscene for mouting/balancing tires. Shop around, and you should be able to find a place in the $50 range for all 4.

yes....and this was for the stick on weights on the inside of the wheel rather than the clamped on weights on the outer rim edge.

Thanks everyone. I'm looking to get some P-zero Nero M+S for the winter and next year. Discount Tire gave me a quote about 700 for the tires including road hazard and lifetime balance/rotation but they do not have any in stock and will need to order them.

If anyone know where I can get some for cheaper and in stock I would appreciate the info.

Thnks.

Because of the last snow, they are taking appointments (for mounting tires) for the week of the 13th right now. I was there 2 days ago to pick up some tires/rims. They do excellent job and know how to handle weird tires/rims combination. Most of Chicago area auto-x drivers have K.O. Tire do the mounting/ballancing because of the difficulty accossiated with R compound tires (say mounting a 225/45/15 hoosier onto a 6" wide rim).

My friend just had them swap his stock STi tires for some winter rubber onto the stock rim. I think he paid ~$70.00 for the work.

I go to Discount Tire, 2080 E Rand, Mt Prospect, 847-253-2474. They don't charge me even half of what they quoted you; however, I have bought three sets of tires from them in the last year-and-a-half. My tires and wheels have been mounted and dismounted more than Jenna Jameson, with no damage to my wheels. No appointment needed. Try again, ask for Dennis, tell him John (Blue Evo) sent you.

Thanks for the info. I'll try calling John tomorrow and see what happens. I'm glad you had good exeprience with them cause I was worry about discount tire mounting my wheels.
