Chitown EVO owners,

I bought an EVO over a month ago and had been checking here for some kind of a meet and found none. Come on fellas! lets go!!! I don't care if it's a quick Starbucks Carribou coffee run! I wanna meet fellow owners and share the experience of owning one. Now if you guys are being secretive 'cause of what happen at schaumburg with WRX crowd (supposedly a couple of V-tec kids fighting) someone PM me. I use to own an S2000 before the EVO so i know pretty much what's going on. I still hang out with the S2000 crew as they don't really care what car you own. I'm 38 and behave very well, senior owners need not worry. Btw, this car is awesome.

No specific details, just pretty much what i stated above. A few of the S2K owners were at that meet and were the ones that told me about it. As i understand that meeting place is now cancelled. WRX owners are pissed that their new place is a secret, of course i can't confirm this it's just what's floating around the enthusiast community.

 

yeah my bro used to hang around up there, he has a rex. some ricers showed up and started ****. supposedly nobody with a subaru was even involved, it was between rice crews or something. someone got beat up pretty bad, and the attackers fled. schaumburg coppers told everyone not to hang out there anymore. sucks cause i know those subaru guys were very respectful to that property and caused no problems. couple of jags ruined it for everyone. anyway let me know whats up for a meet. if im not working im in.

 

we used to have meets, usually at Portillo's in Schuamber. That went down the drain cuz I lost m license and had no real motivation to organize anything. I went once to the WRX meets and the S2K meets with my evo....my buddy is the S2K regional direct so I hung out with him. Anyways we should get something together. I seen some nice Evos around Chicago and it's a shame that we don't have any meets. Maybe we should move to sunny Cali.

 

On your picture, is that the car wash on Rand rd in Palatine? Just curious because I live like 5 minutes from there Nice rims and nice car.

 

Let's try to squeeze in a few meets before we get hit by snow. How about the weekend after thanksgiving, Dec. 5 or 12 at Hooters on Golf in Schaumburg, let's meet up there for lunch..... lunch 'cause daylight is getting pretty short. In the summer we can do it after work any day of the week. Anyone who's interested needs to chime in on this and discuss a few things, e.g. when to call it off. There might be a lot of snow on the ground or it might be too cold for some. I'd really like to get this thing going, I think 4 to 5 cars is reasonable. Let me know what you guys think?

I can do it on the 5th because I will be leaving for vacation to Mexico from the 9th to the 17th. That's my vote.

 

Really nice car EVO-Bill, Interestingly enough I actually work @ Portillo's. Not the location in Schaumburg, but I've worked in Niles, Elmhurst, and now Skokie! Anyways, I'm thinking about purchasing an '04 Ralliart in the next month and I think it'd be great if we could create a regular get together or local car club. I'm relatively new to the lancer scene, but I'm very open-minded and willing to take lots of tips and advice, I know there's a lot for me to learn.

I would love to go to the indiana meet but can't, i'm working tomorrow.
Well, so far we got 3 interested in a meet including me. How about you omarboy25?
If we can get this started in the winter just imagine what we can accomplish in the summer.
Like i said earlier 4-5 people should be realistic but more would be great. Let's wait and see!

Well! this thread is dead..... I guess will have to wait 'till summer. The S2K group is still active and planning a bowling meet (winter beater car meet), anyone interested let me know and will PM you details when date and place is set. This will be a regular thing that we will be doing to get over the winter. Basketball will be on the list as well (once a month).

yah definately keep me posted.. we are planning a 11th or a 19th meet.. i see your already coming.. also check the mlc boards for other meets... the 5th doesn't work for me .. but i am always up for driving as any mlc member will tell ya!! see ya soon!

Lets have a meet this Sunday Nov 28th. Its the only day that I can make it since I don't have a license and the only way to get my car up there is one of my friends who works at one6 motorsports ( who r open this sat). I think Hooters would be a good place to have it, lets say 12:30.


So whos up for it, promise it will be a good time ^.~
