It really is my GF's birthday and she's the reason I came up with this idea. I'll show her ID if anyone who wants or cares. She's been in love with the EVO for a while now. Basically just the looks cuz she doesn't know much about cars, and also because it's fast (she loves how fast my rents Crossfire is, and I tell her it doesn't even compare ).

However I'm not gonna say that since I did this for her that she's the only one that's gonna get off on it lol. I love the EVO too but never thought of getting on a forum to see who's in the area. If I had thought of it, I would have been on these forums a long time ago . I'm just really excited to suprise her with something I know she'll love.

 

Alright guys. Seems like we may have a few people that would like to meet up.

I'll throw out a time of 1:30, so let me know how that will work. About a meeting place... I really don't know of anywhere that grabs my attention. I've never been to any car meets in the area either. The only place I can even think of is the tiny Fraser Public Library at 14 and Utica. Small lot and I never see cars there. Only reason I even thought of that place is because it's connected to Becky's street (the GF, don't know if I mentioned her name yet). So feel free to make any suggestions!

As for who's showed interest in meeting, here's what I got from reading through the thread. Let me know if anybody changes and I'll edit it.

I just read through this thread, and wanted to say, it's pretty cool what you guys are doing. Are you all going to meet up and then drive to her house? That would be pretty crazy.

 

That's the plan so far, and if we manage to turn this into a mini-meet, so much the better!

Atleast you guys' girls and wifes like your evo and respect it. My wife doesn't care for mine, cause i spend too much time with it.

And the other day, her sister was in the car and she said go, i wanna see how fast this thing is. I punched it and my wife said, "psssh, thats nothing compared to his last car, this thing sucks". i was like....damn

 

I took a second to put the stars on one map. Becky's house is the one near the church. It's about 3 miles from Coney to her house right up Utica, but as long as somebody doesn't mind driving that 3 miles to her house, I sure don't mind a longer ride in an EVO . I think meeting right near 696 could be a good idea too depending on where people are coming from.



Partly cloudy and 55? Damn, looks like it's gonna rain... Really though if it's anything even close to these past few days I'll be really happy. As long as there's no rain.

EvoGLH : BRING your cameras!! Consider that as a reminder. I might actually forget mine too, so i'll try to put my camera in the car tonight.

I don't think i'll be washing my car if it will rain. I'll just give her a nice spray down to get rid of most of the crap on her.

btw.. I vote EvoGLH takes the lead to the gF's house and you and the GF ride in the yellow Evo. I'm sure it will get alot of the attention from the crowd around.

I, ahem, usually drive like a Grandpa because, Dammit - I AM a Grandpa! Remind me to tell you about the time I got a ticket for 40+ over & the POPO put out an APB on my car. People wonder why I'm a real mellow driver now....

On the other hand, real ego boost for 'Gramps' being seen toolin' around with a fine young woman beside me: it might - just might - be worth the ***-kicking I'd get from my wife IF she finds out!

(HAHA - just kidding. Except for the Grandpa, APB & slowest Evo bit... )

 

Saturday night is the MSU basketball game, so 1:30 might be a little dicey....haha. I will try my best to be there.

I am definitley interested if this is going to be a mini meet. It's great that someone will have a nice b-day surprise as well. The only other Evo owner I have met so far is MattGold.

Matt, you gonna be there? I'd like to hear how your Payn tune went. I have my stage1 + and just trying to work out some ECU issues before I set-off to Payn.

I think it would be great to meet a few Evo guys/gals in the area to talk cars, compare mods, maybe set-up some track events or something.

Mercenary3, where in Bimingham are you? I am just south and west of 14mile and woodward.
