How do you run 26 lbs of boost...

On my 2003 Evo 8 I have added only a Profec B spec II and a 255 fuel pump. I am hitting fuel cut at about 21lbs. I have two other friends with Evo's that are hitting fuel cut at 26 lbs. The difference is they have intake and exhuast. Has anyone else experienced this in Colorado? Is the key to raising your boost adding intake, exhaust, both, or something else? I have a Utec, but was going to wait until Dynoflash comes out to put it in. I was thinking I could raise the fuel cut point as long as I wasn't running lean. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your friends are BSing you. Theres no way they can run 26 lbs on pump gas with no alky or water.

Yeah you need alky or race gas. Also, 26lbs is past max efficiency on stock turbo I believe. Especially dont run 26lbs in Colorado on no alky or race gas.

YOU DONT! too much boost=too little power! The sweet sopt is 20-22 psi, any more is like telling a marathon runner to do full-out sprint for 5 miles, after completing a 26 mile marathon! dont waste your time getting the needle to read 26!

Why would u possibly wanna run 26 psi on a stock turbo? Way out of the turbos efficiency range! Plus, you'll blow up ur engine before u make any power! Stick with like 20-22 psi and you'll be more than happy!

Thanks for the help guys....just wanted to make sure I was getting all of the power I could considering the mods I have. Anyone have a guess on what the car should run with just boost controller and a fuel pump at 5280 ft? Whats the fastest 1/4 mile time has anyone ran at Bandimere with thier Evo completely stock?

I would like to see that happen out here I would say a high 13 would be good on a bone stock EVO out here. Conditions play a big role too though. It gets hot up there during the day with Sun on the track all day.

I just ran a 118 mile open road race at WOT and 26 lbs of boost, But I have a bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors, and a ton of other mods. I would never attempt that with the stock turbo. Be happy to be around 21 lbs of boost, That will give you a very responsive street car.

LOL Yeah my last car was a 300 WHP GTI 1.8T and I was able to almost take a full second off last summer when I took it to Chicago. So I am guessing the EVO should be really close, forced induction and all. I would say we loose about 3/4 of a second up here on average.

Was that a guess? I have yet to hear a bone stock Evo run high 13's bone stock. I have heard alot of mid 14's.
