Ducati and Lotus.....sweet.......

Hong Kong is awesome. Asian chicks galore. I'll be back on August 16. Good luck with the car. In a way, I hope they total it and replace it with a brand-new car, or at least give you a good chunk of money.

Dude that f'ing blows!!!! You've had some bad luck with that ride ever since I've known you.

I hope they don't total it because you wouldn't get near what you put in. Sorry to hear about it, man.

Sucks to hear about the accident bobby. I just got back from Boston and I'm reading all this.

You'll have options once insurance figures out what they are going to do with it. They could fix it or total it. It might be nice to start out fresh with another car.

Thanks dudes, the whole deal pretty much sucks.

To answer some questions....it's not really all that bad, but since it is an Evo (aluminum fenders, expensive as hell parts, suspension parts, etc...) it is going to be expensive. The initial estimate is somewhere around $7300.

I just want to get it fixed so I can still drive it while the weather is nice.

BTW, drove an Elise yesterday......very small on the inside and all in all a very impractical car. Turns lots of heads though. Needs about 100 extra whp right off the bat. You have to give up too much practicality and it doesn't make up for what you give up IMO.

Anyone else have any other ideas for open air sports cars? (IE targa top, t-tops, convertible, etc...)

I hope the insurance company takes care of you. Since you car has been modified, they are obligated to fix it to "pre-loss" condition right?

I agree that the Elise needs more horsepower. When I rode in it at Shannonville, its straight-line acceleration is adequate. What impressed me the most is the amount of speed it can carry through turns. The combination of light weight and excellent chassis tuning allows the car to attack corners at unbelievable speeds.

If you decide to get one, there are aftermarket turbo/supercharger kits available. You may also consider Comptech S2000, BMW M Roadster, or AMG SLK55. The latter is automatic-only though....

Solstice GXP. Sounds dumb, I've been looking into them lately and the more I read on them the cooler they sound. It might be my new avenue for parts development. $31k gets one fully loaded, they can fit a big tire, 295/35-19, in the back, weigh 2800lbs, and with a 35r I think it would be a blast of a car. And they look good as hell with some aftermarket wheels and body work.

Sorry to hear about your car, I think I would have killed that chick.

have the bodys shop chop your top on the evo and just get like a bmw convertable assembly and somehow fab that on there...
