Have to tried doing some of the more simple things, like changing the plugs and wires?

Matt installed my MBC and no, I didn't change plugs yet.

And to Evolution[OH], the MBC is not a "set it and forget it" item. It needs to be adjusted periodically throughout the year/seasons in accordance with weather variations (temp, humidity, etc..) to maintain the desired boost setting.

To be honest I was told the same thing, but I never got around to adjust it. But again the weather was stable, when I was still driving evo

Hi Paul, welcome to the Evo community.
I work at the Institute of Music, and there a few other Evo/WRX/STI ethusiasts on campus. We should setup a Case meet sometime.
I don't think anyone local is running the A'PEXi coilover, most of us use TEIN, or simply stick with the stock suspension setup. If you plan to drive the car year-round, lowering the suspension may not be the best idea. Previously when I drove my lowered Evo in the snow, I hit a block of ice and it ripped my o2 sensor off the downpipe. Not to mention numerous scraps and rubs.
For the same money, you may consider investing in engine mods: intake/exhaust/flash would be the first thing to do.
