If it was a difference of a couple hundred I would say go to AMS for a solid dyno tune, if its a matter of around $1,500+ I would give Paul a call and let him help you! Paul helped me with my 30k service and it was all pretty easy (of course we didnt do the TB).

Just do it yourself, keep the receipts for your paper trail and even take some dated pictures with the TB off and diffs draining as evidence to show a potential buy if you ever sell the car.

$300-500 > $1,500-2000

From: on the interwebs all fricken day.
TIC sells Redline, and can get what you need in a day.
TPR sells amsoil, and can get what you need in a day.

for the record, i have been doing some trial and error on trans fluids and so far between the Amsoil and Redline, 2 part MT90 and 1 Part MTL has been the best solution.

Beware of Kerry Mitsu in Florence. I am not going to go as far as to say say away from them but I can't stand one thing: getting ripped off by a dealer.

I just called them* to see if I could get Diaqueen LSD gear oil and I got a response of "huh?". Well understandable, I didn't know what Diaqueen was before getting the Evo but then again I am not a parts rep. I knew where this was going...

After stating I have a part number I was asked was it manual or auto...what kind of car...? I was then told $140 and that it would have to be ordered. Bringing up how I paid less in the past the rep was quick to interrupt and suggest that the other dealer probably broke it down into quarts. He honestly didn't believe me. I even went as far as to confirm that we were talking 4 liters as I am not sure we were talking the same oil.

I have a receipt from June of 08 and told him exactly what I paid for 4 liters and told him thank anyways before ending the call.

I immediately called Kings Mitsu and was quoted a price a whopping $2.00 more than June of 08. Very understandable.

Just beware of Kerry in Florence since they are a small new dealer. If they were trying to charge me $140 then I would never want to do business with them. If the part was the wrong part then it doesn't say much for the stubborn parts rep as I tried.

Kerry isn't a full mitsu shop. They are mostly mazda. When you want something from them they have to use their computer to look everything up.

I think you would always get better deals through http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/

Mitsu parts have really increased in price lately....guess the economy is tough on them too.

Go to the parts desk at Kings and tell them you are in the "DSM" club. They will give you a 10% discount on everything.

yeah they seem to be reasonable with mods on cars too, talking to the mitsu guy at the service counter, he said they wont void your warranty for your catback or something small like that. He even said intakes are fine too, but does anyone know a dealer I can go to in order to get these recalls done so I dont have to put my car back to stock? I dont want them to mark "modified" on my vin for future service work...

I think if you are looking to retain your warranty....you better return it to as close to stock as possible. Otherwise....bye bye warranty.

Heck, my warranty was voided after only 3 months of ownership.

Recalls don't matter though....they are required by law to perform the recall stuff regardless of the condition of the vehicle.

Who does good alignments... everywhere I seem to go, something is not quite right. Now it seems to be straight, but the steering wheel is slightly left.
