Carter, I run further than that every morning. Heck it takes the car longer to warm up than it does for you to drive to work.

I think I am probably one of the hardest drivers in the city on my EVO. 3 clutches, 2 sets of calipers, 3 sets of brake pads, 2 sets of rotors, 4 sets of street tires, 2nd windshield, 16 oil changes, 6 tranny fluid and diff refills, 5th gear syncros replaced (ready to do it again) and I am sure the list goes on. The best part about it all is that you can still eat off almost any surface on my car because it is so clean. So there.

One day I want to be like Grag and track the hell out of my car. Hmm now that it's paid off that dream may become reality.

I also have the cable and software. Although I have not played with it yet. So if you miss Paul when he is here just let me know and I will let you use my cable and you can download the flash software for free. I also have the datalogging software. I will let you guys know how it works after this weekend I hope to have some time to play with it all.

OK guys, let put this hardware to use

Most of the guys subscribed to this thread have gobs of power, cutting edge suspension, and sticky tires. Even if you don't, why not put your car to good use? I propose we have a Southwest Ohio Evo track day at Putnam Park in Indiana. We can make it the same weekend as the NASA event there on October 7-8, so everyone has plenty of time to schedule and prepare. The format will be HPDE classes running 4 - 20 minute sessions each day.

If you don't have any track experience you will be in HPDE 1 and will have an instructor with you until you both feel you are ready to go out alone. You learn at your own pace, and you don't need anything other than a safe car and a helmet. Since it's a NASA weekend, there will also be a bunch of wheel to wheel racing to watch on both days, and generally a big dinner on saturday night.

The HPDE 1/2 classes usually sell out first, and since this is the last regional event of the year, don't wait to register! I'd really like to see 7-10 Evo's there - I'm tired of being the only one! Here's a link to the event registration:

https://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_e.../?event_id=321

If you have any questions let me know, and I can also tell you how to get your track time for FREE! So, is anyone up for two days of 125 mph sprints down the front straight?!?!?!?!?

Greg,

You better plan on doing this again next year when I get home. I will be there for sure. I may even have new tires, wheels, brakes, suspension, and the list goes on. It sounds like the most fun a guy can have with his clothes on and sober.

Paul

Well the participation for this event will drive if I try to do it again; perhaps it can get big enough to have our own event? At any rate, when you get back you can come out with me any time. I've been out once a month since April already, and I won't be slowing down until October.

I'll be there. Everyone else should go also. It WILL be FUN.
To run for free you just have to work/volunteer for another NASA event then you can run free at the next NASA event...kind of like working at an autox (grid, corners, etc)

You need to work two days to run two days. Events between now and then:

July 7-9 Mid Ohio - We still need volunteers for this weekend
August 12-13 Mid Ohio - I'm going to possibly be there on the 12th, the DSM Shootout is the 13th
September 14-17 NASA Nationals Mid Ohio - Not sure how the volunteer thing will work for nationals, but I'm planning on working.

So there are 3 more weekends between now and then to get you volunteer time in so you can run for free. I can get you details (contact names, etc.) if you want.

I'm driving up Sunday to watch Greg run TT for the first time. Unfortunately I couldn't run up there this weekend due to other things going on tomorrow. If you want to see everything you'd want to be up there by about 9a or so.
What part of Cincinnati are you in?

Practice starts at 8 am both days, with qualifying before lunch and the races after lunch. There shouldn't be a gate fee, so entry will be free.

I live in loveland. I have to work on Sat so the Sunday would be the only day I could go up.
