The Illinois State Police announced plans today to conduct seven roadside safety checks locally to catch motorists driving under the influence and other violators during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Police announced the following times and places for safety checks:
• 6 p.m.-11 p.m. Friday on the East-West Tollway (Interstate Highway 88) and Illinois Highway 31 in North Aurora, and on the North-South Tollway (Interstate Highway 355) at North Avenue (Illinois Highway 64) in Lombard.
• 11 p.m.-4 a.m. Friday and Saturday on the Tri-State Tollway (Interstate Highway 94) at Lake Cook Road in Deerfield, and on the Northwest Tollway (Interstate Highway 90) at Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.
• 6 p.m.-11 p.m. Saturday on the Tri-State Tollway (Interstate Highway 294) at the 95th Street toll plaza near Hickory Hills.
• 11 p.m.-4 a.m. Saturday and Sunday on the Northwest Tollway (Interstate 90) at the Illinois Highway 53 toll plaza near Schaumburg.
• 11 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday and Monday again on the Northwest Tollway at Arlington Heights Road

legally they have to post it. you just cant set up a roadblock/checkpoint anywhere any time you want. part of the criteria for setting it up is that you have to notify the public so normally they put a little blurb in the middle of the newspaper or something like that.
