There's lots of room along the lakefront if you guys can venture to the city. We can take over one of the spots south of McCormick (31st St or further south) or we can set up grills up north at Lawrence/Wilson.
Whatever you say Bob, I know you are the model of maturity!!!
Did you ever consider looking in the SW suburbs? The Palos / Orland Park area is nothing but forest preserves, and contains some of the best single track Mountain bike trails in the Mid-West (Swallow Cliff).
I realize no one in this club likes to travel south of Schaumburg, but beggars can't be choosers!

Man, I need to get out to one of these.. But I live all the way over south of Detroit.. Lake Erie Metropark would be a great place. You don't need reservations, there's a wave pool (huge), bike trails of brand new blacktop, fishing, jet skiing, etc.. All you have to pay is like 4 bux or something to get in. There are dozens of picnic areas all around the park too. There's about 5 quality metroparks within 10 miles of my house. (Trenton, MI 48183)
Woodscreek in Crystal Lake is available for that date. Only problem is there is a max of 50 people allowed. The permit is $100, $50 of that is a deposit that will be refunded if we leave the park clean and presentable.
Lucas & Jerad, Call me and leave a message on my cell: 815-690-4055. I cant book the park at that price cause I'm not technically a resident of CL, so I need one of you to book it.
Thanks! Later

checked out naperville parks and you have to give them your first born to rent a park. i could not even tell you how we could rent a park with all of their red tape and legal jargin. we would need to hire security if we had alcoholic beverages. submit request 90 days prior, min. sometimes it was mandatory for 1 year before. who knows what they are doing a year+ into the future? sorry.
i really like the downtown chicago idea. it would be cool to get pics of 50 cars with the skyline and lake behind us. lets just go to gary and shick and have a gynormous cookout in stratford's parking lot. j/k.

yeah i know. you should have organized it.. not wait till like last minute... so i guess there is no bbq this coming saturday
It is sad to hear that there will be no BBQ on July 30th. Although it does make me feel a little better about saying that do to the events that happened to my wife and I on Sat. we will not be able to make it to the BBQ. My wife is still in the hospital, and hopefully she will be released sometime later this week or early next week. Maybe if the BBQ does not happen next weekend, we can still throw one together by the end of August. Who is up for the challenge?

u guys are terrible! u think we gave up? come on! we dont give up that easily
Gina is at some parks and Eric is going to get the permit online today..they are working on it as we speak. Hopefully, they'll return with good results.
And if that doesnt work, we can always take over some park...

I know this is last minute, but we don't need to start getting pessimistic. We can make this work. I PM'd Kaostic and if this park is still available in Crystal Lake, I'm going to try to get it booked. Post here if you guys find anything else. Oh...and there's a world beyond the south side of Schaumberg? Damn...I wish someone would have told me.
Just kidding bro. It does seem like that though, doesn't it?
