Finally, a Lancer owner that I can go to autocross events with, lol. Well I have autocrossed in Indianapolis and Akron Ohio. Indy might be an option for ya. ALso Route 66 has autocrosses every mouth when the weather warms up.

http://www.scca-chicago.com/solo/index.html
Thats the schedule for Rotue 66 in Joliet

http://www.scca.org/interactive/regions.html
Thats a list of all the divisions of Solo II (autocross) competition.

By the way, just thought about this since I was talking bout autocross. Any old members remember B_Tapper, and what hes up to? He always had some good input, plus autocrossed his 2.5 RS. Just rememberin past times at Evolutionm, lol. (lancerforums.com......)

Tristar, that's awesome info! route 66 isnt soooo far away from my area..im guessing a little over an hour. do u know if i have to go to the school before going to one of the events? im guessing u do, but i want be here March 29 or 30. ill be in japan actually..

but thanks for that info! do u autocross already or are u gonna start since i asked?

since im going to japan, i might pick up some minor parts there, maybe some super spark plug wires (the ones with caps built in for a stronger spark), or something like an intake. i hope spark plug wires won't void my warranty, if it does im not gonna buy em. what do u think?

but thanks again for that info! i'll see ya around

i just read through the SCCA Autocross FAQ..it's really informative. here's the link if u guys wanna check it out:
http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/faq/

it looks like i dont need to go to the driving school! but i'm not sure which events i can participate in.

Tristar, since u've gone autocrossing before, what class is a lancer in? and can we get into any event even if it's competitive? hope u reply soon!

Evoboy, yea come along with us, it'll be cool. im sure other lancer (or eclipse) owners around here will want to come too. and if u want info, just look around the scca chicago area site!

No prob for all the info. No, you dont need schooling before you drive. It would be cool to get as many people together to autocross. By the way bobaab, think you could pick me up a grill since youll be in Japan?!?!? LOL

I guess you could say hitting a pot hole can void your warrenty. Yes, autocrossing can void your warrenty, because I guess a dealer could consider it racing. But whos going to ever find out? I never worried about it.....
