Libertyville Mitsu Sucks
Libertyville Mitsu Sucks
My brother and I took a quick trip out to Libertyville Mitsu yesterday because he wanted to look at an evo because his 350z can't handle the snow. So when we arrived there a salesman comes running. At that time we were lookin at an RS. Hes like this is a bad car since it is a base model( he also said it was slower than the GSR
), then I ask him if it had any mods?? He says no. What a hack. You could clearly see the exhaust turbo timer boost controller etc. So then I'm like bring the keys out so we can start it up, and he brought thee keys out to the RS and another GSR that wasn;t modded. We started them both up, the Rs clearly had an exhaust. So i asked him why it was so much louder. He said that it is because it is a base model and that Mitsu don;t put any attention in the exhaust. Then we went to the sales manager, he said I could test drive it only after I had gotten finacning, so I was like thank you and good-bye. Just thought I would tell u guys to watch out for these guys

you just have to keep looking til you find a civilized salesman took me bout 4 to 5 places before i finally talk to a decent sales person, most of them talks a lot of bull$hit..good luck on your car search..
Sadly salespeople aren't paid to tell their heads from their asses, they're paid to sell cars.
If you want to deal with someone that isn't going to jerk you around I'd head to the mitsu dealership off of 34 in Aurora by the Fox Valley/Westfield mall. See if sherif will deal with you. He's not a salesperson, I think he's an upper manager there. I dealt with him when I went there and everything went great, he's easy to deal with and seemed pretty eager to ensure that I had a decent buying experience.

This dealer does suck. Even their service dept sucks as well. I went in for a 5k free service with an appointment & I waited for it but took them 3 hours to get it done. Never gone back. Even though I had the free service I am now just doing all of my maintenance myself.

I like their parts department. Just called for parts and look like they knew what they were talking about. I call Schamburg Mit and they told me I need to provide the VEN number for them to look up the part since a lot of things change since the 03. I was like WTF!!!!!
Went there to buy my 97 Eclipse GST. Sales staff was completely incompetent. Said I wanted the turbo version and they showed me an RS. BAH. Went to Larry Rosch and had a much better experience.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago. I took a look at their 03 Red Evo that has been sitting on the lot for a while. I think it had ~47K miles on it. The exterior was beat on, and the interior wasn't much better. It didn't even look to be cleaned very well. Looked like the car had been modded because they didn't even put back one of the bolts holding the airbox down. Oops! Well he came back with a rediculous price and wouldn't budge off of it. I said good day, and good luck with that.
On the other hand, their parts department is great and havn't had a problem with them with either car.

I bought my EVO from Libertyville Mitsu, but it was used. It only had a turbo timer as it's mods, so I was happy. The guy who sold me the car was a complete retard and thought he was a bad *** cause he drove an EVO too. That guy could use a good jack in the face to send him back to reality, or maybe make that 2 jacks in the face.
hey rlazer5000 LOL, did that salesman @ Libertyville Mits. by any chance drive a Red Evo if so, bought mine off him as well..and as far as thier parts department goes i just get my oil filters there and do all my own maintenance Although one time I tried getting some touch up paint and they told me according my VIN# my car was suppose to be yellow and i have a WW.

If you already know the car and how much it's worth, just tell them what you want to pay, if they don't like it move on to the next. I did all my homework in advance over quite a few months. I really wanted to broker a deal with my local Mitsubishi dealership for a BBY as they were nice everytime I came in to ask about Evolutions (when they'd arrive, etc). However, they wanted $700 more for a BBY w/o sunroof then what they were offering on cars they had on the showroom floor with sunroof/spoilers. I told them straight that I wanted the car for $28,000 and no more and I was willing to wait or go elsewhere. So I took the invoice they had from the dealership they were going to get the car from and called them directly. Told the manager I wanted it for $28,000 and I'd pick it up on Friday, needless to say he thought I was the dealership I was trying to broker the deal with at the beginning because I knew everything. Simply have a price range in mind then use the prices to your advantage, "Why should I buy X car with you guys for $ when I can buy Y car with them for $".
