Lapping day Shawano WI -- Nov 13 -- $55
Didn't make it... for some reason when I woke up sunday after the depressing badger game I went to and driving to silver lake I didn't want to drive another 200miles
Next year for sure, I'll be prepared for sure.

Yes....It was a wonderful way to finish off the season. I had three 20 minute sessions dry then it started raining and I had a 40 minute session on a wet track.
I actually enjoy wet weather racing more than dry weather racing.....especially at Shawano because my car refuses to oversteer unless above 50 mph. I run faster lap times in the rain because I can toss the car around more instead of plowing around the turns.
There was only one car that I couldn't keep up with and that was a Z06 with hoosiers and race brakes. However once it started raining it was all over for him.
My Porterfield R4S pads weren't the best for continuous racing. They didn't even feel like they stopped as good as cold stock pads. I ended up scratching the tires through many of the turns just to stay on track.
I did go four wheels off one time on my first lap but ended up staying in the throttle and bring the car back on the tarmac without incident.
My advans are totally shot. They may have one more autocross left in them if I swap them front to rear but I wouldn't feel safe driving any distance on them.
You should have come! There was one other evo that showed up for the afternoon session. It was a blue 05 I think. Looked stock.

Well the Fox Valley Sports Car Club has events year round. I prefer the high speed stuff over the autocross events. I would guess they have 4 high speed events a year. That being said there are tons of other car clubs that visit all the high speed tracks around the area. I am actually a member of the Chicagoland Sports Car Club. They race at BlackHawkFarms, Autobahn, and Gingerman quite a bit.
As for the Z06 driver....he's probably the best racer I know. After playing tag we switched cars. That Z06 is WAY too much car for a rookie (like me) to handle. But boy does it go, stop, and turn.
