CO Alarm/Remote start questions

Just wondering who has these around here, and what you think of them. I'd really like to get the remote start system, and maybe something I can controll the windows or trunk with, and obviously, an alarm. Where's a good place to get these? Anyplace that's good with installs?

Many places will not install a remote start on a car with a manual transmission. Think of what happens if/when the person leaves the car in gear.

thats so the gheyest reason they wont do it, you can do it yourself or pull the installer guy aside, give him like 30 buck or whatever and tell him to do it and you wont say a word. If not, someone will know who can do it, Im too lazy to hook mine up or I would have it already,

I wouldn't recommend it... That one time you do leave it in gear... bad news.

well I'm not too worried about leaving the car in gear. I'm not a very forgetful person, and I always have the ebrake on. I'm sure there's places that'll do it. Plus if you have your turbo timer on (I know some remote starts second as a TT) you have to leave your car in neutral anyways.

I have a remote start for my Evo and I love it! The alarm system that I have is made for a stick so it knows when its in gear...Its the CompuStar, and it comes with a turbo timer built within the alarm system

Ooo Oooo, I think I want that. Did you install it yourself or did you get it installed. Where'd you buy it?

if your turbo timer shuts off if you dont have the ebrake pulled, then you have the protection of not leaving it in gear... thats how a friends car is
its really nice cause he just wakes up, warms the car up and goes...

When I researched them (I want basicly the same thing as you, without the windows/trunk thing) Compustar looked pretty nice. I emailed them and they gave me 2 locations near me in CO, I can look them up again if you pm me, I don't know if they just sell the system there or install it too. It would be nice if the car wouldn't remote start if it is in gear, that might be true with compustar or it might be impossible, i'm not sure really, but the built in turbotimer is a good idea since if the turbotimer is on, you know the car will be fine for an electric start.
