Need for Dyno in St. Loius MO?

This goes for everyone on this board.

My name is Jason I work for a company here in St. Louis called speed and sound. We are located in Arnold, MO about 20min south of St. Louis..We are looking to buy a mustang dyno..AWD..I was looking for the opinions from people on here on who would really want to use this dyno in the future for the following:

Group dyno days
Personal tuning for your vehicle
Tuning in general no matter what the car
Performance work with custom tune from us

The two owners Mark and Chad are trying to decide if this is really worth it or not. We are just looking into this and need alot of opinions. I personally think this dyno would be helpfull not only for the company, but for the consumer as well. We can hold dyno days up here whenever and also do personal tuning for whomever would like to. This can be a safe and very affective way of tuning your car. Plus we would be the only AWD Dyno in the Midwest...

please leave your feedback on what you guys think..

thanks for your time,

Jason

I would post this in the regional forum, might get more responses if your thread was something more oriented towards the midwest region. people probably are probably going to use the closest dyno to them, as long as it is a reputable shop.

Honestly for you to buy a dyno it wouldn't be a wise business decision. Reason being is you have one close to you already. Also there are two others that I know of being AWDynos as well in different parts of the state.

So to justify cost you could make just as much money working out a deal using someone elses dyno. Just my .02

Jason, alot of the evo guys go to Ron at Axis who has a dyno that will support AWD. If you can compete/get your name out there (ie let ppl know you now have a dyno) then you might have a shot.

Oh, and even though I haven't heard anything about your shop I know a few people that swear they will NEVER go to a St. Louis shop (again) including myself.

yeah what is the whole deal with stl shops...We here have one of the best mechanics that you can find in a small stl shop that really knows his 4G63 motor..very respectable and everything..

I'm sorry if you have had problems with certian shops in the past, but I am sure that we have all been down that road once before..

All I have to say is try us out if you dont like our work or our quality then I guess you are right, never shop at another stl shop...

Just so everyone knows...we have done probably over 5 evo's this past month...and we do talon's and eclipse's like there is no tomorrow..

just try us out..I can get you almost whatever you want...and I promise we are the lowest price intown..

I think it sounds great that you guys are thinking about buying a dyno. St. Louis really needs something like this. I have met both the owners of speed and sound and find their shop to be very professional and very well run. Both have a passion for what they do and have done the work to prove it. I would bring my sti down and my friend who has a tt stealth would also. Speed and Sound helped a few of my good friends out who run a local 4x4 shop in STL. I just think that many people feel that all substantial work that is done on a car, hotrod, motocycle, 4x4 has to be done on either the west or east coast and this is not true.

if you want even more feedback, i would suggest putting this in a wrx forum, a dsm forum, etc.

I can't spell.

I wish I would have known about your shop a long time ago! I would definitely be in support of the dyno purchase. Do you have a website?

It would be nice to have an accessible dyno in the area...Ron at Axis is a difficult proposition. Just try to get him to go over to Belleville to run the thing for you.

It's not just having a dyno, though. You need a knowledgeable operator, as well. With out someone to run it and know what they are doing, as well as being able to tune, it's just a BIG, EXPENSIVE ornament in the corner of you shop.

My opinion...YMMV.

that's why he's in the middle of finding a new home for the dyno..

Anyways, another AWD dyno would be a good idea in STL.

But everyshop i have taken any of my cars to for custom worked got screwed up one way or another.
