sorry, two people have flaked out on the wheels so far ...if I don't get the I'll just run on my 5zigen & yokos so we wouldn't have to swap wheels at the track.

Well I just traded Pikachu on a TB Evo IX. I pick up the new car Wednesday... Looks like I'll be destroying a set of Advans at this event.

Ooh.
I'm still considering doing this one.. no clue if I can get off work for that day though. My job starts on the 22nd. If my brakes handled Shawano with almost no fade (but I was pushing them harder since I know Shawano pretty well now) will they be up to the task at Blackhawk? You gonna switch your mods over as well, Alex?

You will probably want some aftermarket pads in there, but (I'm sure some would strongly disagree with me on this), if your stock pads have good life in them, and you conscious of the fact that you are running stock pads then I think you will be OK. If you don't change them before the event I would recommend taking a spare set with you just in case.

As for the IX, the dealer is switching my rotors and pads onto the new car on Tuesday. I MAY switch the catback over but other than that the plan is to keep it stock.

Stock.....

I'd lose the cat immediately. Congrats on the 9. Did they rape you on trade?

So how many EVOs are we going to have at this event? I'm signed up and ready to go.

I got an OK trade. Not great, but reasonable I think. $16k for mine and $30,700 for the new one, and I get to keep my race pads and rotors.

The appleton dealer started by giving me a ballpark of $12k-$14k on mine (based on mileage and how I said the condition was) and was talking $32k for a new one.

Considering Pikachu took alot of abuse and never left you hanging I don't think that's too bad. Didn't you say it had 80K miles on it? You're basically getting a brand new kick a$$ car for $14k.

$30700 is a good price on the new one. I've gone over the upgrade in my head at least a thousand times already. I've got the cash but just dont know if the upgrade is worth it for me. Maybe BHF's will give me a shove one way or the other. I know you are more hard core than I am. I would have to get SSL because I refuse to give up my moon roof and HIDs.

I've been thinking of trading my WRX in for a IX. I drove a friend's 2006 MR at an autocross and it was better than my old 2003 Evo 8 in every way.

I hear that from alot of people. The main thing I dislike about my 03 is the lack of a front LSD. But that's only an $800 fix. I have less than 30k miles on it and it hasn't given me any problems at all. If it had gremlins or high mileage I would upgrade in a second.

It had 75756 miles on it when I just gave it away.

They are switching the brakes and I get the 9 tomorrow.

After I got the BOV switched on the 8 it gave me no trouble at all.

I think you would want the SS package (if only they made it).. I think the new seats are nicer than the full leather.
