*silly* question but I gotta ask!

Hey. I just got my 06 Ralliart Feb 26th. Do I just wait for something in the mail to register the vehicle or what? It's the 16th of March and I don't have anything yet besides my first bill! My temporary tags are only good until the 26th.

If you bought the car from a dealer I believe they will recieve your plates. They should call you when they arrive, you should call and check.

The dealer should have given you a little carbon copy of your registration for the temp tags and car. You have to bring that little registration paper and proof of insurance into the motor vehicle to get your real plates. It should be registered at the dealer before you even drive it away. At least that's how it is in CO.

I see you are in Indiana, so here is how it works here. You should have gotten a bunch of carbon copies and a few originals of the paperwork that you filled out at the dealer. To make things easiest for you, just take all of them with you to the BMV along with proof of insurance and of course your drivers liscense. Because it is a new vehicle you are also going to have to pay for all the title work to be done on it too, but that is not too much. When you go to the BMV they will tell you what forms they need to see. If you don't know what they are asking for, just ask them to look through the packet of forms your dealer gave you. Usually they are pretty accomodating about finding what you need for you. That is about all there is to it.

Well the dealership had the title clerk there do the title for me. They also had me fax a copy of proof of insurance to them.

I'll stop by the BMV tomorrow and see what they tell me.
