got it, incredible and I'm still in the break in period

 

I live Gingerman... I've been to two other tracks (Texas World Speedway and Mid Ohio) and GM was a nice technical course with great facilities. That track is very well managed- it seemed very clean and well maintained when I went there.

 

Any of you in the Michigan area planning on going to that BBQ in Chicago on the 28th? I'm thinking about going (if I can get the day off) but I'd be more motivated if I had a posse.

Joe, can't make it to Milan, I have a wedding to go to. If you do go, it's sweet. I've been 3 times already.
I'm probably gonna hit the test and tune on Wednesday though. Can't wait to really rest out this new Exedy. I Autocrossed with it, but that's different. Plus, I wanna see how these new 5Zigen 17x9's wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1-S's grip (255-35-17). Did an on-ramp today accellerating up past 85 under full boost and the things didn't squeal a bit - damn near **** myself though.
Hit me back if you wanna go to Milan on Wednesday; track opens at 4:00.

 

Hey has any one read the latest road and track... I guess their are TONS of EVO owners going to get in a class action lawsuit against MITSU for no warrenty work. tales of MITSU looking on the net and calling road coarses, racing events, driving schools and asking and looking to see if there are EVO's and if so they mark it in their system and then won't honor any warrenty. i have been reading and trying to locate the guy they shafted for 8K after a autocross the turbo blow and cracked a connectecting rod. WITHOUT even looking at the car they said their system reported it OUT of warrenty. it was only 1 year into the car, but they said you were here and here and here... they were tracking him... MITSU of coarse is denying it... but cmon... i guess he's not the only one...


on a lighter note... is any one doing WOODWARD Dream cruise? i live less than 1 mile from the strip.... just wondering...

the car is amazing...except for one thing... does any one else notice on a 04 that the plastic bessel under the wipers near the "A" pillars makes noise? if i wiggle it the noise goes away... but a day or two later it's back go wiggle it again POOF gone... see if the dealer can fix it at 5k when it goes for it's first maintence...(the noise is like tapping sound)

i just rolled 500... sucks not being able to get on this thing... 1500 more to go... changing the oil this weekend.

Heh, I can understand that. I'm having a helluva time not getting on my RA (just hit 500 as well), I can only imagine how much harder it is in an Evo.

Plus, 2000 miles is pretty high of a break-in. I waited 1000, and know a couple others between 800 and 1500. But I guess it never hurts to be conservative. Oh, and I'm at 26,000 with no problems and a nice amount of mods (see signature) running 21PSI.

ok now this is a great DAY! I saw 2 other EVO's one exactly like mine... a 2003. with a PLATE that says V8KILLA hahahahaha it was awesome... it was at 14 mile and rochester at VAL's pet store i add to get the cats food...

and the other was on 15 mile at 7pm today, heading EAST on 15 mile... RED one had to be bran new...

so if any one knows these peeps get them on here... i'm not the only one with one in the CLAWSON area then...

BTW just looking around here for OIL change stories and how to do it and jack points it was nothing... piece of cake.

jack points are using the tranny mounts and the rear tans... the oil filter was a bit tight BUT i bought a 3 prong oil filter remover for 12.00 at SEARS and no problem... 3/8 drive and out it came.

all new Mobil 1 and OIL filter good for another 1000... at 1500 last change for me then the dealer does the rest..
