yea saw you driving towards to schaumburg last weekend... i was heading back home from the honda/subie meet over at busse. didnt do much there either since cops were writing tickets off to random people for no front license plates so my friend and i rotated out in a quickness.

Well let me be one of the first to say welcome to the area.
Honestly there really isn't any. A couple years ago there were some very severe accidents with multiple deaths due to street racings etc so police are more cautious (do something stupid like most do at streets and the police will come) however if you act like an adult you usually don't have any issues.
The local hooters every sun in the summer holds a "show" however it is mostly domestics or classics
Another restaurant, RBI's does something similar on Wednesdays.
Honestly, although there are many of us "car enthusiasts" it seems as though we are seldom all in one place at a time.
I personally like going to the local state park (Rock Cut) to get some nice scenery. There really is no equivalent to streets or the "hooters parking lot" here.

As mentioned above at some point, it would be good idea for future meets to have added labels: Young and Impressionable, Puberty, or key ADULT. I'm sure that I am not the oldest but def on the upper end of the spectrum and have a much different mentality when it comes to what I consider fun and want to spend my time doing.

Id go to a meet for sure if I knew I wouldnt have to deal with high school hijynx. Been there, done that, dont want to go back again. By the way, steak and shake in orland (actually tinley) is a high school haven. Lots of neon and such. After a couple quick roll throughs, I avoid it like the plague.
i would have no problem checking IDs. but its not the age on your license it your mentality and maturity. and i have no problems checking that too. i would like to have a meet here in dekalb like i previously stated nut i need to find out a date when there isn't other meets and special dates set up. i know u special people in the closer suburbs don't like to drive but it would be nice to get away from the craziness for once.
