Average speed on roadcourses seem to be about 80mph. That being said, you use a lotta 4th gear. Usually a turn or 2 with 3rd and the main straight with 5th assuming you've got a bit of skill to carry speed. Check out the motorsports forums for more info. I'm still pretty much a noob compared to others!
There's 2 events @ Gateway in St Louis in June!

June 3 • Gateway Int'l • St Louis - SCCA level 1 event
June 8-10 • Gateway Int'l • St Louis - Stl BMW HPE http://stlbmwcca.org/calendar.shtml/ > $325 for 2-day event

Check the sticky at the top for more info.

Are you going to go to either one of those events?

I'm actually instructing and running in the June 3rd SCCA event.
I might be at the June 8-10th BMW event; but leaning more towards no.

If I had to suggest, I'd probably suggest the latter as it's more economical and more seattime. I've never ran with the BMW guys, but I hear good things about them and it's a younger group.

Ron's a good guy. I've had him tech inspect my car for a few DE's (it's an 06; so it's very clean) and he tuned my STi. The guy's a genius with UTEC's!

He can get a really good tune in like 5 pulls; which is amazing. From there is just a bit of fine tuning before he's done.

An Evo and a Utec aren't the best marriage, but they do work. He tuned Jerestan's 500+whp Evo which was running one of AMS's first GT35r's. On his dyno, a stock Evo puts out like 210whp... so it was a beast!

Re-read my post; I said the Evo and Utec aren't the best...

To my knowledge, Ron doesn't tune with Ecutek (flash) or Techtom (Al's flash stuff).
