Illinois Dealership good or bad? Help!
Illinois Dealership good or bad? Help!
I am looking at a blue eve at South Suburban Mitsubishi in Monee, IL. So far im just looking on autotrader but Im looking if anyone has any previous input on this dealership whether it be positive feedback or bad feedback. Please let me know!
I wouldn't be too concerned about the dealer reputation UNLESS you are going to be getting some kind of warranty on the vehicle thru them. Regardless, I would treat any dealership the SAME way I would treat a private party selling the Evo. #1. Get a carfax report on the car. #2. Get the Vin, contact Mitsubishi and see if ANY warranty work has been done on the car. #3. Negotiate with dealership to have the car taken to a mechanic of YOUR choice and have the car looked over. I would reccommend a mitsu dealership or tuner shop because they know Evos the best and would know things to look at on Evos that you probably wouldn't look at on other cars. If the car inspection comes back bad, you either eat the $$$ it costs to have it done and/or negotiate with dealership beforehand to see if you can split costs, etc.
Hopefully other people will add with their feedback. Also, can you give the forum members more info on the car (Year, price, GSR, SE, or MR, mileage, stock vs. modded, etc) It may help with the info you'll receive.
I will tell you one thing. I tried reaching a deal with them, and while they tried to give me a decent deal on the Evo, they tried to screw me really hard on trade in. So if you are just buying the car, you should be ok, if you are trading one in for that, you might not be happy with their prices.

Okay a little added detail, 2011 GSR Octane Blue, asking price $29,990, 4311 miles. The only thing that kinda concerns me is that ive been watching the car for some time now and it has been for sale for 4-6 months already. It has dropped from 32990 to 29990, but why? Makes me think there is something wrong with it etc.

What I would like to do is leave the dealership with the car/registration/fees etc. for 28k

I think that the car may be a test drive car, or a repo/lease return from a person who couldn't afford the payments for whatever reason, rather than something being wrong with it. As I said before, follow the steps I laid out. If all that comes back good, go in and negotiate HARD. The fact that they dropped the price down from $32,990 to $29,990 shows the car ain't movin. lol. I would figure that IL is the same as AZ. Dealerships don't have Evos flying off the showroom floor like other states like FL or CA. Use this to your advantage. Dealership has already probably profited off of the car thru it's first sale (you will see this on car fax report if its been pre-owned) so don't let them bs you. If the car was returned, they probably changed the oil, did an inspection, and washed the damn thing after getting it back so I doubt they have much $$$ invested in it. Good to know you have a set price ($28,000). If you can get the car OTD for that price (including fees, TAXS, registration, etc) I think that would be a GREAT price. Let us know how it goes. Good luck.
Hey
I've personally bought two cars from them and have not had any problems - unfortunately we did buy new, but they do have a big used inventory (not necessarily all Mitsu) and have had positive experiences from there. As one person suggested, you can get t, get it checked out what have you, it def is a great price for it - and there's always room to budge...I think I would've gotten my Evo for less than I got it for if I didn't have the kids with me...PM me if u have any questions

I can say that the car is in good shape, I test drove it, inspected it and drove off the lot with it lol.. The car was a repo. The guy who had it before me only had it for a couple of months before it was repoed, It was bought new in 12/11 and still has 2 years left on the warranty. I'm a cop and was able to pull it's vin history. The reason the car didn't sell was due to the price, they wouldn't budge on it for a while. Got out the door with it for 24,092. Those GM transmissions are complete garbage in the 328'sThose GM s.
As far as business with them they I have no complaints, they didn't try to sell me anything and negotiated in good faith. They will try to beat u up on your trade I didn't care cause my old BMW was cursed and i needed out!! Lol. Those GM transmissions are complete garbage in the 328's! If your're still looking one Try Hawk Ford in Bridgeview,Il they had a 2012 on the lot with only 8,000 or so and some mods but for what they asking for it you can get a new one!
