Guys around Chicago, has this happened to you?
Ok, so it's been the 5th time within the past year that I've had random people yell out of their cars at me if i want to buy speakers for 80% off. I've had times where I'm just driving down the road and people start rolling down their windows asking me to buy speakers. I just want to know, has this ever happened with other evo owners around the area? I mean it seems like i'm the only person they target because there's tons of other people around me that they don't even ask. Just wondering because it seems like a fairly idiotic way of selling something
lol
i think that might be you... hasn't happened to me at least.
Most likely those items are hot, of course. They target an evo driver because we're often the types to buy speakers i guess.

its happened to me. guys drive around and find young kids to drive around and sell stolen speakers. scam and i feel bad for the kids they promise alot of money too that work for them.
Had this happen to me a couple years ago. Except, the mysterious white van just pulled into our driveway. Guy was selling home theater speakers for REAL cheap. Despite the deal, I passed...I couldn't believe the guy was just pulling up to people's houses

Haha yes many times. Usually I'm at the gas station and the "van" pulls up with the guy holding the yellow peice of paper and yelling nice car want to buy some nice speakers. And no matter what speakers you tell him you already have, the ones in the back of the van are waayyyy better
yeah happened to me in Milwaukee too.
A white van and some kids in it with huge floor speakers. It went out just like that definition link posted above, a high paced sales pitch with a "you gotta buy them now" talk.
I declined, but later that night I was watching a show where they uncovered scams like that with the guy selling you a box with some bricks in it.

This has been on the news before. As the others have said it is a scam. They are selling "professional" grade home theater speakers. They are always some brand name you've never heard of. The reality is they are junk.
haha this didn't happen in the southside it happened to me in oak brook twice, and bartlett a few times. any reason why the cops don't crack down on this, because as to my knwoledge it's illegal to sell things on the parking lots of places and gas stations.
