A friend of mine told me about this scam...essentially these guys drive around and sell these supposedly "high end systems" for a hella good deal. the systems are junky pieces being supplied by the whomever is in charge of the whole deal. Sometimes, the boxes are just full of brick/ other objects.

This has happened to me in the Palatine area. I actually have a pair of speakers from these Van Guys that I won in a poker game.
I also met the owner of one of these companies. They market the speakers as a surplus from their warehouse and they need to sell them quick at a discount. In fact they are all generic brands. The speakers are new and fine, but they are not the high quality brands they try to make you beleive.

This happened to me back when I had my lancer in 04. I knew at the time that the speakers were not high quality but I was also in college and needed speakers... so I got a set. They turned out to be really good speakers. Better than my sonys I got at the same time period for 350. I still use these when I'm at home.

It happened to me one time and I told the guy yes. I told them to follow me to my bank which was 40 minutes away. I stop at a random bank in my neighborhood and tell them I forgot my wallet and can't get any money. They were so pissed. I thought it was fun to jerk them around. Those losers need to get a real job.

i had a set of these that I bought probably close to 10 years ago. My dad still uses them actually. They sounded decent, nothing that impressive. But for his listening styles they work just fine. I think I paid about 100-150 for 5 speakers, 2 towers 2 shelfs and a center channel.
