Where are the good roads?
There is one road that I've been on thats quite fun(compared to the boring north shore suburbs anyway). Its called Forest Way Dr, in Glencoe or Skokie I believe. Its next to the Skokie Lagoons, and Skokie Country club. You have to get on at Willow, and it will take you to Dundee. I think its a little over a mile long.
Couldn't agree more. I live just north of Algonquin rd off of rt47. There are plenty of wide open country roads with long straights and twistys just west of 47. I used to live in Schaumburg and it was hell trying to find a nice open road to tune or play on. Out here there's rarely any traffic and visibility as far as the eye can see provided you're not next to a cornfield.
Took the advice here and headed up to the area around Whitewater, WI this weekend. Great roads, lots of fun, but I'm glad I brought my radar detector. Soon I'll head west of the city and try some of the suggestions posted above.

If you are on the Skyway heading back to Chicago, take the Grant Street exit and you WILL NOT be disappointed. There is no toll to enter or exit, it's always deserted and it has THREE loops. Get off and get right back on. You can thank me later.
(This is only the exit/entrance heading WEST. The exit/entrance heading east to Indiana on Grant St is ho-hum)
