Unless something breaks, I'm going to MOD for sure along with probably two of my buddies. We can all meet up somewhere and convoy; but we have to pull out on time or we won't get great parking there. Plus I may be meeting other people there and I want to be there early to chat. It starts at 9am IL time so we should meet up in Plainfield, Avon, or Brownsburg and we need to pull out of there by 7am Indy time which should put us there around 8:30am. Anybody up for convoying with us? Sofar it's my Mirage, a buddy's Lancer GT-S, and another buddies Lancer Sportback.

P.S. If anyone has a set of X BBS's they'd wanna sell, let me know!

Ah man that sucks! What happened? I only just finished getting immediately problematic repairs done today. (Exhaust, new wheel, alignment, o2 sensor, etc) Still gotta get a new alt as mines failing and a new k-frame as mines bent.

driving with a few buddies out the the MWE bash and probably 50 miles out of st louis (middle of nowhere) my motor started knocking bad. shut it off coasted to the next on ramp. checked the externals for any signs of throwing a rod or anything everything looked fine. pulled the spark plugs and looked down a flash light into the cylinder. i could see scrapes on the top of 3 out of the 4 cylinders.... later when i was waiting on a ride home i popped the valve cover off and around my cams stuff that almost looked like steel wool.... this was around both cams... i'm guessing that the shop that did my cam install ****ed up... i was talking to my buddy and he thinks that the rockers needed adjusted for the cams and they weren't so that's where the steel wool looking stuff came from

Yeah, that's not good. Sounds like a new engine is in order. Well, if you end up buying a longblock I need a bare block for my build so let me know!

There is no adjustment on the rocker arms. Looks like paper towel left in the engine, who knows where it all is, covering the pickup etc.

If a person/shop in indy did the install, post up who.

My first attempt at making a track video!
You are going to want a good sound-system or good headphones to experience this video. I had to get creative to deal with the windnoise (dubstep)

My Evo 8 2.3L 400whp vs Corvette C6 Z06 427 LS7 505hp

This Evo is my daily driver and only family car all year round in all weather. The car is full interior and on street tires (Dunlop Star Spec Z1's) and I had my tuner riding shotgun with me at the time. Its hard to get a sensation of speed from these videos, but for reference, I was hitting 135mph on the front straight at the entry to turn 1. Most turns are taken in the 60-80mph range and the slowest tightest corner is maybe 50-55mph on street tires.

I don't know who the driver of the Z06 was or what mods or tires he was running. Most likely stock power, track pads and maybe tires. The Corvette C6 Z06 for those of you who don't know has an all aluminum LS7 427 7.0L V8. It has titanium rods, titanium exhaust valves, revs to 7000rpm, has factory dry sump and CNC ported heads, 505hp 470ftlbs stock, 14" 6 pistons brakes, and weighs about 3130lbs. Stock C6 Z06 runs around 11.5 1/4mile @ 127mph.

Video Description:

Catch up to a Jetstream Blue C6 Z06 during an advanced group run session at Putnam Park. Followed him for lap to watch his line and then I tried a few modified lines to see how my exits would compare to his standard line.

He was pushing it pretty hard trying to stay ahead and started making some mistakes where I could have dove in for a pass. You can hear me let off when that happens I wasn't trying to risk anything with a passenger in the car.

During the 3 chase laps my laptimes were 1.5-2.0 seconds slower than my normal pace.

yo, we created a facebook group page so we can communicate easier.
http://www.facebook.com/groups/278024342214747/

Some of us were wanting to have a meet sometime this month. Go to that facebook group and vote in the poll for what day you can make it if you want to go. We're trying to find a day that would work best for all of us.
