IN EVO Spotted Thread
That 50 year old lady is the only other evo I ever see, she's a professor at IUSB. I see her car parked at school all the time but never get a chance to talk to her about it. Her license plate said "WHT FANG".
I never see other evos around...maybe once every 2 months lol. Where do you guys hide? Seem like there might be enough for a small evo meet.
Going to join now.

I am/was the Silver Evo IX MR you see occasionally. My Evo isn't going to be street driven anymore, just track days, so it is storage now. I just got a new Wrangler, so you won't see the Evo anymore. If a new wrangler waves at you, its me. I see a silver Evo X at IUSB when I have my MBA classes. I noticed the WHT FANG white one when I was buying books before classes and kinda laughed that a 50 year oldish professor lady was driving an Evo 9. There is a silver MR X in town. A red GSR X with aftermarket wheels that won't wave or acknowledge that I exist. Blue Michigan plated Exo 8. There is a silver evo I just saw in town with Evolution VII on the trunk and Evolution VII tails. Didn't see the front though. Then there are just the random ones I see maybe once every 3 months that I don't remember. But it would be enough for a meet, I would pull the Evo out of storage for that, especially if there is no snow on the ground.

The silver one sounds like a friend of mine maybe....well he has a silver VIII with VII tails and bronze rims. But it's always broken so it never gets driven.
Here are some pics:

As if you have to ask, I love it
I got it from a really nice guy near Pittsburgh who met my wife and I at Summit's headquarters near Akron, OH. It just has minor stuff done to it, hard IC pipes, 3" TBE, perrin MBC and what feels like a really good tune, with dynojet charts at 330 whp, 320 tq at 23.5 psi.
I come from DSM's, my auto '97 sits outside, ready to make one last attempt at 10's (27 psi, 3065 turbo, link, etc...) but after it's next track visit, it's getting parted out and all proceeds will be put into a savings account for my wife and I to use for the adoption process. My former DD was a Mazdaspeed3 which is a great car in it's own rite. Surprisingly, there are quite a few things I like more about the IX as a DD, funny as that sounds.
As far as near-term plans, I've started cleaning up some of the uglier stuff under the hood. I'm putting in a modest, but decent stereo (30 min each way to work and back and I love my music), and installing cruise control hopefully this weekend. After that, it's maintenance time - tbelt, pulleys, water pump, plugs, wires, and all trans/diff fluids are getting swapped out for new OEM stuff. I'll probably need brakes soon and it has 70k on what I think is the stock clutch. Surprisingly, it grabs really well still for having that much mileage. That tells me it wasn't beat to death in a former life

Sweet! I don't know if I'm a fan of the carbon hood on stockish evo but I understand thats totally a personal taste thing. Did you get the OEM hood with the car? You may or may not know this but Evo's have Aluminum hoods stock that weighs only 20lbs. Unless you shell out 3000$ for a dry carbon racing hood there is not much weight to be saved. In fact some carbon hoods like VIS are heavier than stock!
