Purchase an evo from Illinois
I've had good experience with Max Madsen. I was comparison shopping between two new '06 WW Evo MR, and Libertyville couldn't touch the price of what Max Madsen offered. Both places were more than willing to give test drives.
Local dealers!
I have purchased two evo's since 2003 and can give you my input. Biggers in Elgin sold me the 2003 when they first came in! No test drive and retail end of story. We have purchased 5 cars in my family there and wouldn't refer you to them. Recently, purchased a loaded Outlander for the wife and was lied by the sales manager (Emil) who didn't even honor the full tank of gas after I took the car home at 10pm on a Friday night empty. Traded in the Endeaver limited with a full tank of premium and was told that they would pay for the first full tank if I bought the receipt to them, my wife did and they gave her a $20 and told her that is all they can do. Accused me of making my 2003 Brembo's peel due to harsh chemicals on the wheels but only cleaned them with soap and water. Never drove it in the winter but a few times. STAY AWAY FROM THAT DEALER!
My 2006 IX MR purchased from Max Maddsen in Downers Grove! Great deal, good sales person but, the little weisel finace guy tried to scam me on my intrest rate buy upping me from the 4.9% to 5.9% the day I went to pickup the car! Keep in mind I run a very sucsessfull dealership amd know all the tricks of the trade. That kind of a mood can ruin a stores future pulling that %@##. Just be smart and donot jump the gun on the purchase! The dealership needs you more than you need them with the current spending situations we are gowing through. They should be bending over backwards to sell it to you!

IMO its hard to say who the best dealer is, since everyone can have a different buying experience from the same place. I would go and just check out as many as you can for the best price and best salesperson that treats you right. As far as I'm concerned, if they don't respect you from the time you walk in the store, they never will. Turn and spend your money somewhere else. Good luck with your EVO shopping though
If your serious Walk in, I dont care what your drivinga nd tell them you want to buy the car. Have them pull your credit and tell them to pay attention to you or you will go elsewhere. you have control here not them, I dont care how good the sales guy is, you are in control. If they dont want your money bring it to Wisconsin. I will help you buy an EVO.
I recommend requesting price quotes online first from different dealers. Less hassle and save you time from going to the dealerships. Once you have all the price quotes emailed to you, get the best deal and try to get the other dealer beat it. Let them fight for your business. That is what i did and saved me thousands below MSRP! got my X for about 4.5K below MSRP. Good luck and be smart. dont let the dealers puch you around. if you dont feel comfortable just walk away!
I've got a '06 Red MR for sale 2.5 hours west of Chicago..... drop me an email if you are interested. rgonyer@mchsi.com
Re: Sale
I can recommend you for some financing if you seriously want to purchase my 06'GG MR. I am very motivated to sell the car. Was flashed by AMS and has a good amount of bolt-ons. Has 23k miles!

RE: Car
Just make sure it has a clean title! A VIII and a IX are quite different cars in the engine department for more money. My 03' with cams didn't feel as fast as my IX MR with the flash and my 03' had about the same mods with the exedy setup and tuned.
teh turboes are differant!
hey man, in naperville.... on the corner of ogden and aurora at the pontiac* dealer there is a "slightly modded" (just saw the outside as i drove by) AS IX for sale if you arent picky on color or make. you could always go check it out, idk how much they are asking or any of that....thought id let you know haha
