First Ticket in EVO

So I got pulled over doing 71 in a 35...i kno i kno...a little excessive....but anyway i take out my key and cop comes up and i have my info ready...(19th ticket so i am a pro at this) he takes my license and asked me if i knew why he pulled me over and all that bs....so while he was talking to me...my car shuts off from the count down of the turbo timer....the cop jumps a little and was like "whats wrong with your car"....i told him it was a turbo timer to cool down the turbo...then he goes to write me a ticket....when he comes back he asks me what kind of car it is...i told him a lancer evolution....he said the lancer is a turbo? i said no it just came over from japan this year...he didn't believe me...i told him it was turbo AWD 271 hp stock...he was looking at me still in disbelief...then i asked him if he new of the wrx...he said you mean the 300hp one...i said yes...this car is its competition...stupid cop

then he proceeded to tell me i would have gotten thrown in jail if i was going 5 mph faster...said 40 over is a class A misdemeanor....is that true?

When I got pulled over, the cop wouldn't shut up about his new Lightning and his friends z28. I was real nice to him and talked to him for a while. Then he ended the conversation with 3 tickets. Bastard.

19 tickets?!?!?!?!

geez hows your insurance?

Anyway i think thats right about the jail thing

When i got pulled over, the first thing i did was tell them about the turbo timer and that it would shut off automatically

Also i put my keys on the dash, they seem to like it when you do that

Yeah I got pulled over on Lake Cook road doing 90 something in a 45. It was a female cop and she was nice, so she gave it to me for 29 over.

i am in the burbs.....naperville....yeah i should be more careful....i am looking into the passport 8500...

i just always speed the "safe way" as in when nobody is around

insurance is fine...as long as you never change insurances they never know about tickets...

Lake Cook and Milwauke. Around that area on Lake Cook is terrible.

So, I need to keep it less than 40mph over...good idea!

I always thought if you got clocked at anything over 80, you were pretty much screwed??

40 over (I think) is enough to get you thrown in jail here in Illinois, but I think it differs per state. I got caught (my first ticket) doing 90 on 55 going to Dekalb from Chicago, but the cop was nice since it was my first one. He only put down doing 75 on 55.

yeah i have to be careful. i will be investing in a radar detector soon....but i dont' want to hang it on my windsheild cause cops get pissed when you have one...are there any kits where you can wire it into the car or someway that you can just have a sensor apart from the reader...

the law is double the speed limit is reckless driving, so going 55 in a 25 will get you thrown in jail.

87 km/h in a 50 km/h zone......$277 dollars, 4 points and god only knows what my insurance company will say.

Any tips on fighting this thing in court?
