Anyone local did it themselves? I been reading and it doesn't sound very easy. If anyone wants to help me there will be

Any advice on what to do and what not to do will be great as well

do it right the "right" way.

-Unbolt downpipe.
-Drain oil.
-Drain coolant.
-Detach the oil return line (on bottom side).
-Detach the oil feed line (on top side).
-Detach the coolant feed/return lines (on top side).
-Take off radiator.
-Take of intake pipe.
-Unbolt the manifold and take the entire assembly (manifold/turbo) out.
-Unbolt the turbo from the manifold.
-Unbolt the o2 housing from the turbo.

Install o2 onto turbo, then attach onto manifold, and in reverse step install everything back togather.

**This is the long but PROPER way to install it in a clean one shot method. You can also install it simply by taking the downpipe off, o2 housing off and then working under the car, but one of the bolts for the o2 housing is tough to get ahold of. HTH!

^ sure, we just need someone there that know WTF they are doing

From all the reading, heard it can be anywhere from 2.5 to 10 hours for first timers..... I REALLY don't want to do this for 10hrs.

Is it really that hard to change out an o2 housing on the evo? I know it looks pretty tight, but it seems if you were patient you could slip it out of the bottom with the downpipe removed. Its a simple install on my talon!

It is actually quite easy. The first time I did it it took about 2 hours and I follwed the directiosn below almost to a T. It sounds like a long way to do it, but in fact it makes the whole thing a piece of cake. You will create more room by removing the radiator and you will save yourself busted knuckles and bent fins. Just do it right and it will be a fun way to learn how to work on your car

I'm probably gonna do it next month. Doing a LICP and GM 3port BCS and a retune in March, so I want this puppy on by then.

If I can finish in 4 hours then I would be happy. Do you know how your buddy did it? there is like 6 different ways of doing it.

4 hours is a pretty good estimate, i've done a few

you save a bunch of time by not pulling the radiator, but i have some slice scars on my knuckles from the fins...
