D1GP- Chicago Aug. 1st, 2009
Coming up on August 1st, coming to Chicago for the first time, we have an amazing D1GP event. This includes a drift competition and a car show/meet.
D1GP is the major leagues of the drifting circuit, coming to America from Japan. This means that the hottest drifters in the entire world will be present and competing. I'm not sure how many of you have ever been to a professional drift event, but is a GREAT time. Youtube D1GP and you will see what I mean.
Check out the website: D1GP
There are three levels of tickets. General admission,Bleacher seats, and VIP. These range from $25 to $45.
Now, the other great thing about this event is the Car Show/Meet put on by RoadStar: F4 Challenge. This is a new group putting on these shows. Suffice to say, they are trying to bring Import car shows back to amazing street cars, and away from Trailer Queens. Check out their website for more details: F4 Challenge.
To this end, they are trying to open the car show up to everyone. They aren't looking for the best of the best, or elite Trailer Queens for the show. They want the event to have a feeling of a very large multi car club event. There are no minimums requirements to get in, and classes from stock to elite.
In order to entice people to attend, they have made things very simple. As of right now, registration is $45 to enter into the car show. This includes two Bleacher Seats, which normally run $60 in advance, or $70 the day of. Thats right! It's actually considerably cheaper to bring your car and put it in the show.

Looks like fun.
Considering putting my car in the show for the fact that it's just cheaper that way.
Couple of things I noticed and was curious about:
Vehicle must have no more than ¼ tank of gas!
Really? That's going to be hard to do, specially for me since it's about a 3 hour drive and I don't like playing the low gas tank game.
Cars may not be moved or started once parked.
Does this mean we have to stay until the event is over?

Hey guys, my name is Mark and I'm in charge of the car show for D1GP. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Right now we have over $2000 in prize money and a small fact is the gentlemen helping me run this show are the same guys who started HIN!
Registration is $45 for car show entry and you get 2 wrist bands. Which means its actually cheaper to toss your car in the show then it is to actually spectate. ($35 + $15 (parking))
I've gone ahead and setup a discount code for you guys. When you register just use to the code "F4challenge" and it'll give you $5 off.
Please visit D1GP.com for all the classes (mostly performance based).
Yes unfortunatly that is the venue regulations, we have no control over that.
As far as the cars not being moved yes if you enter in the show you will have to wait until trophies are handed out and we roll everybody out.
Please use the code I posted above.

So I found out through trial and error that the discount codes are only for the car registration. The code SLIDE gets you $3 off just a ticket. I really wish they had been more clear about this stuff. I'd also like to know what time roll-out is expected to be since there's nothing listed anywhere about it.
wish i would've known that before hand, but oh well....thx for clarifying tho
<--vip tickets for myself and turbodemon,
VIP tickets for 3 ppl 160 dollars including a nine dollar discount. I'am not standing I'm too old for that shiet.
