Just wondering if anyone in the Chicago area/subs with an AMS exhaust or any other exhaust that is not loud let me see/hear in it person. Youtube isn't exactly helpful in this situation. The exhaust on my car is too loud and neighbors complaining about it! So I need to get something different. I believe I have Megan catback but not sure. If anyone would help me out, just post here or give me a call at 773-578-7014 since I'm not here much. Thanks Chris.

To change your "Drives:" item, click on "User CP" in the upper-left corner, then click on "Edit your details" under that on the next page. Scroll down to the vehicle section, and you're off and running.

For exhaust: I have an AMS turbo-back sitting on the floor here that I'd be happy to sell you.

More seriously, I had the same problem with one of my neighbors. I ended up adding a silencer to the AMS catback for knocking the noise down. Just measure the tip size of your current exhaust so you know what size you need, hit eBay, and search for "removable exhaust silencer". They're cheap, and VERY effective. Take it out when you're at the track or showing off.

For the eBay exhaust I have on the car now, I added a resonated test pipe as well, which didn't help much other than deepening the exhaust note a bit. The silencer, on the other hand, knocked the volume right down.

One thing I'll mention is that cabin noise didn't reduce much; if you're wanting to do side-by-side sound level comparisons, do it from outside the car, because the interior resonated quite a bit in either case. YMMV.

i have the ams turbo back twin tip and although it is quiet on the inside everyone tells me it is loud,and i am using the silencer

I'm going to be selling my extremly quiet Buschur exhaust with 2 magnaflow mufflers soon in about a week. I'm keeping the downpipe but will include everything from Downpipe back (testpipe & catback). This is as quiet as a 3" catless straight flow through no tapers as an exhaust gets. Unless some one made one that has 3 real mufflers (not dinky reasonators) instead of 2.
