FYI, today was the date for the bill to come up in the Vehicles and Safety committee. The vote was two in favor of it passing to the house, four against, so it remains in committee for now.

 

so does that mean the bill is essentially dead now with no chance? do we need to call our rep or what?

 

No, it's been rescheduled for discussion in committee again on the 17th. We'll see where it goes from there. Odds are, it's just a question of making a few changes to make the bill more acceptable (language adjustments, etc).

 

hmmm...Ive live in NC for about 10 years and we havent needed front plates...so u thought wrong

First, this is just the vehicles and safety committee; nothing will "pass" for months, if it even makes it to the floor.

Second, it looks like they haven't discussed the bill yet, or haven't gotten out of session, because there's been no update yet on any of the bills they were considering today.
