Speed + Snow = Car in Ditch
Speed + Snow = Car in Ditch
hey.. whats up... last friday, when I was going to work... there was fresh snow on the ground... from what I believe, I was going at an ok speed. I was going down the car pool lane onto the highway (yes, there was someone else in the car too) and it seemed like i was doing OK until I turn the Wheel.... I was like... SHOOT... the car wont turn... I applied pressure to my brakes... still... nothing... I was like **** **** **** **** ****... then.... tttrrssshh.... Car in Ditch.... Luckily nothing bad happened and I was able to get out ok... freaked me out for the day... THEN TODAY.... FRESH SLUSHY SNOW... I was on my way to work again... I was... about 1-2 miles away from work. On 35W going up to 694, i turned in... I was on the left side this time... and then again... turned the wheel... but nothing happened... kept sliding and... I was lucky... only my two right tires were in the ditch. I were to have slid any more... I would've made my lancer into a Giant Snowball... I tried to get out... but i couldnt, it took me about 4-5 tries to get out... the inside part of my right tires scrapped against the cement a bit when i tried to get out... but i got out... and Im at work now..
Get some appropriate tires on that damn car before you kill you or someone else!!!
And, with AWD (like front wheel drive) you can often point the wheel the direction you WANT to go and gently give some gas - once those tires start a skid it's tough to stop it...
Good luck and be careful out there!

no kidding, get some new shoes... We had a group buy going on ContiExtremes - get ahold of Zack @ Discount Tire if you are interseted.
but, to be honest I would go with BF Goodrich Comp TA touring tires - I had them on my Outack and they were amazing. (they don't come in 17", or I would have them on my Evo)

hmm u probably applied the brakes too hard...when something like that happens, u gotta tap tap tap the brake until it catches some traction..holding it down is a no no with FWD cars.
