I got pulled over about an hour ago...
...but no ticket!
I was pulled over for driving too fast and beating a red light, but it turns out that one of the cops (2 of them) was an autocrosser and he was admiring my car! He was even talking about how the Evo was better looking than the STi. We even talked about SCCA, which he was a member of. He was a cool dude! He was like, "With 271 HP, do you really think you should be trying it here? Get on the highway." The other cop was a bit more serious, but he just gave me back my license and told me to slow down because the area they were covering was known for, "drunk polaks." Not my words, his words, thus the quotation marks.
Anyway, I drove off completely convinced a few minutes before that I was going to get a ticket for being an idiot, but thank goodness I got off light. It pays to be calm and honest. A lil' luck wouldn't hurt either!
AND NO I DIDNT GET A TICKET FOR NO FRONT PLATE! BWAHAHA!!!

I was by Cicero and Foster in Lincolnwood/Chicago area. I was driving down Foster going towards the 90 W ramp. This way actually takes you pass a police station. I didn't get to catch the officer's name because the other officer (the serious one) wanted to get it over quick. After they gave me back my license they just drove off back to their hide out.
Lucky you! Typically when they pull you over for "running a red" or speeding they get you for no license, no seatbelt, cracked windshield, etc. Our front plate is not mounted either.

probably from the chicago PD but if it was the illinois state trooper, you will be toast because they hover around that area with an unmarked red camaro, too!
That's tight. My last time being pulled over I got a warning too. I'll leave the details out, but I could have easily gone to jail. I got real lucky, and definately learned my lesson.
Chicago city police are by far the coolest cops around here. It's the suburbian cops that I'm a lil' skeptical of. Since they don't get to see a lot of action, unlike city cops, they tend to be more into pulling people over.
Real Lucky
I live in Illinois, but I have Michigan plates. I bought my car in IL and the dealer fired the chick in charge of registering cars two days after I bought mine. They were supposed to mail me a check so that I could go to the Michigan Secretary of State to register my car. I had an IL temp plate until then.
I went home to Michigan to show my family the Evo. I switched the IL temp plate for my MI personal plate because I like it better. My folks live in West Bloomfield. I took them out for a ride. A cop was ahead of me in traffic and I didn't see any speed limit signs. He slowed down so I did too. He slowed down again to like 15mph. I did too and then I passed him. He jumped behind me and pulled me over.
He said that he'd never seen a car like mine before and he wondered what kind of car had such a high wing. He said he slowed down so he could see it from behind and that he pulled me over because I wouldn't pass him.
I had no registration on me because I left it at my folks house. We were just going out for ice cream. I had my MI plates on the Evo, but they were still registered to my VW. The cop ran the Evo's VIN and it came back still registered on the boat from Japan. The only thing I had was my insurance binder from GEICO with the Evo VIN. I had my old GEICO insurance from the VW.
The cop put two and two together and he let me go. He said the only reason was because I was nice even after he said he'd have to tow my car. The cop told my parents that they raised me well.
I was in a Dodgers jersey and shorts (this was early May) with no proof of owning a brand new car and the Man let me go with a warning. That's my lucky story.
