New guy from Rockford, IL
Hey guys, I've had my evo for awhile and have been lurking on evom but I thought it was time I introduced myself. I don't typically start new threads, but you may see me post here and there. I'm Wyatt, I currently live in Rockford, IL. I have a 06 MR. I was a 2G guy for several years, but I decided to jump to the CT9A evo platform. Car is stock for now. I bought this car sight unseen in April earlier this year from another member of this board in Phoenix. I flew down on a Friday and drove it back to IL over the weekend by myself. I do have some plans for the car that I am going to be getting started with soon. Since I'm starting with a blank slate and I am a pretty hardcore "do it yourselfer," I will do my best do document everything I do and I will share my work with anyone who cares to see it. If there are any other Evo owners in my area, please post, I'd like to get to know some other car people here. I've attached a few photos, thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! I have seen a few different ones around town, several X's. It seems to happen that I'm never driving mine at the time. Does anyone know who owns the black VIII with Bride seats? I've stumbled across it a couple times, about the only one I've seen up close.

Very clean looking car. Hard to come by good examples of people taking care of their rides. Most are too embarrassing to post up from some of the meets we've been to.
The longer you leave it stock, the longer it'll last you! Just keep up with the maint/service schedules.

Thanks man. It is pretty clean, I take good care of it and I spent a lot of time looking for exactly what I wanted. Getting ready to put it away for the winter right now. I agree with what you're saying and it almost is a curse to me that it is such a nice car, cause it makes me think that a full build would just take away from that. My short term plans (next couple years - probably nothing beyond a small turbo upgrade) are to do some tasteful bolt-ons and a tune. Whether or not my attitude changes on that, I guess we'll see.

Now, simple little things that not only add a bit of fun but aesthetics and reliability...that's when we are impressed with cars. Bad *** street cars are one thing but cars where you KNOW it's simple and effective while retaining the most drive ability and simplicity is what keeps them on the road which means that there are other places the finances can be used, car related or not.
Obviously it's about character and what you're looking from the car. Not everyone is looking for just power, that's the bonus of this car though. Fairly easy to get to into high three's low four's.
Have fun with the car, obviously there isn't anything to do out in Rockford (I have a house out there) but there are a few guys out there like Sinople who I'm sure wouldn't mind to get together for some meet and greets....then there are the pirates shocker dudes (they grew out of all that though). Man, that was a short lived saga out there.

If you ever get the urge to push the car to it's limits on a real track let me know, I can help guide you through the process. It's amazing what these cars can do when set up correctly and pushed to the limits!
I'm another Rockford local who still owns a 2G and also EVO 8 race car. Unfortunately you won't see me on the street however.

racer145, don't listen to that guy, he's slow....on video. In person HAULS ***! I remember a setup/test&tune we were doing for a client at either Autobahn or Blackhawk. One time you were there and Andy was there with the 365 car (can't remember if it was together or seperate). You're quick, especially for the class. Andy's rocket is out of this world, brave man from some of the slides I've seen him commit to.
