chicago land dealers

So I was thinking about buying a 03 to see how low of a price I could get. So I called up 4 dealers around the area libertyville, schaumburg, Roesch. So I was calling around as I didn't feel like wasting my time if teh price was still over 30k... so As I am calling I first say that I am lookign to buy before the end of the end of the month, I have a fico score middle of over 780 ( I am a mortgage broker so I can pull my own credit) tell them I don't want to waste there time or mine. So I say I want 27500 (will pay up to 29k no more) out the door. seeing that the car is for the most part one year old and used ones are selling for around 25k. So the guy comes back at libertyville says he has sold over 26 evo's so far adn that if I wnat to get into one it is going to cost 35k out the door... I was like ok thank you for your time. next up is Schumburg, I ask the same things the guy quotes me 33k out the door this time I am like come on these is a year old model what is the best you can do cause I am serious about buying if the price is rigth i will be there in like 10 mins, the guy comes back with 32k as the best he can do so I am like thanks haev a nice day. next up was Roesch. the best price so far of 31k to make this long story shorter is there stealership that is willing to come down or do they not take phone calls as real calls as a person that will buy? is there some thing that I am missing to getting the good deal as lots of people on here have?

I think it's the area....Well, that and you likely come off, on the phone as a guy with $$.

Show up in person at the dealership in your weekend clothes and a fist full of cash. I think you will see different results.

Moving to a Regional forum...so people can give input on the dealerships in the area.

SC~

I agree, I talked to this punk kid at Libertyville who actually drives an Evo (mommy and daddy's car probably) and he quoted me $2000 over MSRP in October. He was telling me these stories of how he's beaten every car he's raced on the street so far. "wow I'm impressed." A guy just posted in this forum that he got a good deal down at Roesch in Bensenville. Those guys quoted me the same price too, but at least they were professional. As for me, I got a great deal at Schaumburg, and so far good service. Here are my tips:
1. Go in person for the price quotes. Dress nice and be knowledgeable about the car. But let them know it's a tad out of your price range.
2. Buy at the end of the month. These salesmen need to hit their quotas, so if it's the last car on the lot on the 31st, you know you are going to get a good deal.
Good luck!

33 out the door now on an 03 that is weak as hell. you talk to biggers in elgin yet??? I got mine for 31 out the door LAST JULY. brand new 8 miles on it, still had plastic all over the interior. pm me if you want more info on who i worked with over there im sure he could do the same for you, hes a friend of mine. no hassle or BS either. i walked in told him in looking to order an evo whats the best you can do. he gave me about 12-1300 under MSRP last summer on the first quote. i know he leads that dealership in evo sales with over 20 sold. last summer people were lucky to get one for MSRP much less under. either way PM me if you want.

LOL His name is Eric Scharlow! I bought mine from him...and now he and the ex-finance manager won't give me what they owe me. Screw them and their service center. I have had so many problems with them in the last year...I won't go to them anymore. OH...btw...it is his Red Evo. ANYWAYS....they tried to stick me with the 10k over too...I walked and they dropped it and I got my EVO back in may...but...it was slightly over what I wanted to get it for. If I could do it again...I would NOT have gone there.

Actually, if you goto larry roesch, talk to Sebastian. I called them a while back, asked them if they had black one with wing no roof they said yeah, I said i'd pay 27,500 (including $600 destination) for it, they said ok. told him what rate I wanted financing wise, and they did that for me as well, did credit app and trade in over the phone too. Just went there, took the crap outta my old car, put it in the new car, signed the papers and left. Was in and out in around an hour and a half (would have been less had the guy in the business office not been busy with end of day stuff) Give them a call, im sure they can do the same for you. They had a silver one in front of the showroom when I was there yesterday.

Hey DeacOn!
I live in the Palatine Area too! I have a white evo and if you're looking for a place to go buy an Evo Larry Roesch is the place. I have a business card of the person i bought mine, and i'd be gald to send you one. they won't let you down. They have 2 evo's in stock the last time i was there (4/17). They do a good job and they conquered my every request. Hit me back a reply it'd be nice to meet you.
