Westgate and Boost control
Westgate and Boost control
Dear friends,
i need to know the difference between "Max Westgate Duty # 1","Max Westgate Duty # 2","Max Westgate Duty # 3",and "Max Westgate Duty # 4".
And what is the difference detween "Boost Desired Engine Load #1","Boost Desired Engine Load #2","Boost Desired Engine Load #3" and "Boost Desired Engine Load #4"?
Thanks

The difference is pretty simple. You apparently have a dual solenoid boost control system (as do most of the Euro spec Cars), but the theory is the same regardless of what market.
#1 map is warm up
#2 map is normal operating conditions
#3 map is the trouble map
#4 I am assuming is a backup map for the second BCS. I am sure that JC can answer that for sure.

It is JDM and UK VIII MR and IX that have dual solenoids, 7 wastegate and 4 boost target maps.
The description in the post above is for the ignition maps. For JDM/UK dual solenoid setups, keep the wastegate maps that are at 100% at 100% and increase the non-100% maps for the second solenoid to increase boost.

Karta, that's a different screen name, although I have never seen two people spell the word "wastegate" as "westgate" in the same day, and this guy just made this account. You would think this was that other weirdo, but this guy's location says Italy, and the other one is stateside.
