Alignment is screwed! Help?

I'll try to keep it short. I *love* my Evo. She's my baby (after my wife, of course, but still! You get the idea.)

I park in my companies' parking 5 story structure. I park in a space that has 3 foot tall concrete posts to my right and an open space to the left.

I pull a 12 hour shift and am reasonably exhausted from doing so. I get in my car and fail to see the posts in my rearview mirrors. I'm nosed into the space and I pull out and turn my wheel to the left and hear a horrible - nigh, unearthly sound which tells me I've struck one of the posts and my baby jerks and bounces like I've caused major property damage.

I sat in my car and almost sobbed. I'm cursing my stupidity and lack of sleep. I pull back into the space and turn it off, get out - ready to collapse in tears. I look and there is nothing wrong. No scratch, no ding, no abrasion, nothing! I'm shocked! I get down on my hands and knees and I'm looking down the curves of the door and quarter panels amazed! I check the mirror and everything, the bumper and nothing is touched!

I'm so happy my baby is still ok, so I get back in, start her up. I drive down the 4 stories from where I'm parked and onto the street.... uh oh.

To keep the car straight, the steering wheel is turned about 3 or 4 inches to the right. Not a huge amount, but enough for me to instantly notice. I pull over immediately. I check my wheels and there's no damage, no dings, no nothing.

This tells me my alignment is messed up. Wonderful. The car is not modded at all and under the warranty, does that cover alignment? And does anyone know a reputable dealership in L.A. or a reputable alignment shop in L.A.?

Thanks for listening. hehe

If you're lucky, it's just alignment, and cheap to fix. If not, you could have bent a control arm, and that's going to cost quite a bit more.

The warranty does not cover alignment after the 1st 3K miles (its a similar # I think). If you have low miles go to the dealership, if not find an alignment shop and get it done there ...

free adjustment period is 12k miles or 1 year from the date of purchase.
If your car has less than 12k miles, take it to the dealer and have them check and re-align the car.

BTW, do not say you hit something!

If something is bent like a tie rod or something....that's a different story though.
Good luck man.

I'm at exactly 11,100 miles as of this morning. I already contacted a dealership nearby and am waiting for a response. I merely said my alignment appears to be off, no more, no less. Thanks for the advice guys.

If the dealer tries to deny your request for adjustment, bring your manual/warranty info booklet because it clearly states on the booklet about the adjustment period.

I had to do this when I got my evo and the car was not tracking straight.
I showed them the booklet where it clearly states it and they basically shut-up and did the work...boy did that feel sweet

I just hope your car is stock..because if it isn't then get ready for some headache.
