While trying to play with a GTR

I mash the gas and my dash lights up.... When I finally get my car to a parking after moving as slow a snail, not by choice, I get these three codes:

P1235
P1241
P0137

Mods are Turboback exhaust, boost pill, drop in filter, wastegate turned and no cat....

I am tuned.

The P1241 is one CEL that I have never had before......

Any ideas?

P1235- Mass airflow sensor plausibility

P1241 - Torque monitor

P0137 - Heated oxygen sensor (rear) circuit low voltage

Good luck,

Ninja edit- Basically... your not tuned right... your hitting the torque limiter in the ECU... and you need an O2 extender so you don't CEL the rear O2 sensor

Hehe...

It was running fine for a while, and I have not had the issue since.. I guess I will do some pulls tomorrow using EVOSCAN and see what I come up with.

did you look up those codes?? will tell you exactly whats wrong.

P1235 relates to an overboost spike at part throttle. the fuel pump has low and high voltage settings
P1241 Sensor Power Supply Low Input
P0137 is for your O2. You running a test pipe, or high flow cat?? gona have to get a Fouler to move you O2 sensor back some.

Yea P1235, it seems like everyone gets this one.

I have a test pipe and an anti fouler, but I will have a high flow cat here tomorrow or friday.

P1241 - Torque monitor or Sensor Power Supply Low Input - which is it, where should I start my investigation.

Check the link I posted... it has all trouble codes for the EVO X.

It's the Torque monitor.

P1241

I find this can be triggered with you have O2 low activity combined with P1235 ..

Ignore the generic codes .. P1000+ are Mitsubishi specific codes .. P1235 is MAS plausibility .. P1241 is torque monitor

As Tephra said

Oh as for the GTR .. don't bother .. we played with a friend of ours .. every gear off standstill he was pulling away .. initially not too shabby for the X .. but after 50mph .. he's gone like a raped ape

Get it retuned.

As others have said, the DTC codes should be lookup in the factory service manual rather than relying on generic OBDII codes.

DTCP1241 is the torque monitor.

Check Conditions
• Engine speed is 500 r/min or higher.
• Volumetric efficiency is 16 percent or higher.
Judgement Criterion
• The actual torque signal has continued to be
more than the requested torque signal by 130
N⋅ m (96 ft-lb) or more for 1 second.

So, in short the calculated torque was more than 130 n/m higher than the requested torque for more than 1 second.

You could either adjust the requested torque tables to account for the new target or adjust the calculated torque table to account for the requested torque.

Is this a GSR or an MR?

This is true, it is a pig up through 2nd gear. It was my friend driving the GTR so it was not much of a lost cause..

This is a GSR....

I guess I may have to look into some of the tables and the FSM, that is some good info.
