SST trans fluid made of GOLD!!

Diaqueen SSTF-1

List Price $140.28
Our Price $106.90

I have read on this forum of someone changing their sst fluid at a cost of $80 ea. for 7 quarts. I'm thinking I need to trade my RA in on a EVO 10 with a 5 speed!

Are the clutches wet? That wouldn't be until like 60,000 miles anyways right?

The Diaqeen stuff is not cheap at all. IIRC, you only need to change it every 10yrs or 100K miles. Someone will know for sure.

service interval

My service manual calls for the sst fluid to be changed at 30,000 miles under the sever duty schedule. This same schedule calls for 3000 mile engine oil changes (just for reference).

Yes, the clutches are wet.

How often do we replace the sst fluid for regular usage?

The trans fluid is based off of Goldschlager?

Anyways, every 30k seems a bit extreme, but at the same time, since the SST is basically a manual, and the mitsu interval for manuals is 30k, I guess it makes sense. Check your owners manual and see if there's a particular fluid standard it calls for. There's gotta be an option other than OEM.

Remember that this fluid is getting abused by those twin clutches.
It is not only getting hot (remember the overheating issues) but it is also getting filled with little bits of friction material.

It's only getting hot after really hard driving like racing, or street hooliganism. If you find that the sst is overheating on you, make sure to remove the foglight, and potentially add a puller fan.

i'm sure the OEM fluid is not "majic".

by the time someone here hits 30K miles.........

we should know of a better/cheaper alternative.
