would random slowdown have anything to do with SST?

Every slow down I've ever gotten previously was on track, with current cooler setup would take 20+ minutes of on-track use in over 95F weather. Anyway I got one on highway Saturday, my friend says its not trans related. Tuner is going to try and figure it out, initial tune was fine, but has been funky since retune.

Isn't it a SST-only warning for fluid overheating or other errors?

who says its not trans related? As far as I know, the slow down message is only trans related...

I personally cannot imagine how one could possibly overheat the transmission on the street... you might want to check that the space in front of your transmission cooler is not clogged up with something...

i have secondary cooler similar to SSP's. xMR told me "tune needs work". i believe a few other things will cause slow down, not 100% sure. i think overboost is one. he had a similar problem with his last year, im assuming this is what jon@HB Speed told him, who has supposedly tuned tons and tons of SST-equipped evos. just noticed that 1 of 3 answers are from people who own an SST

It's very possible. I've seen a sst over heat from spirited street driving in sub 50 degree temps.

Tom recently got the warning in his MR when he was giving Armando and I a ride to showoff the Green. He has the AMS cooler.

Aren't you still on factory fluid from when you bought the car with multiple track days? Might be time to change it.

I changed mine at 10k and it was disgusting.

Nah decided to keep the MR and get a theft recovery VIII as a track car. But that project has been put on hold since I'm doing another season of motocross.

When did these problems start? Immediately after the tune? Can you reproduce it any more? Any track days coming up that you'll be able to test at? It'd be a shame to spend that money and have slow down messages all day. You mentioned a boost leak, where was it?

boost leak was from wrong sized clamp on stock part of uicp. went to english wednesday, they did boost leak test and then aaron rode along and "adjusted" tune. only had issues since retune but i think im not having problems anymore. just had an autox practice today, no track days planned til april.

another question, when using launch control, if you have to hold the brake for like 10 seconds is it normal to go into slowdown? i imagine thats supposed to happen. held it at 5k revs at start line way too long, but after slowdown, seemed fine.

That's normal. Has happened to me a few times where the light wouldn't turn green. Car gets the slow down message but runs perfectly fine after.
