TC-SST Level check plug.
TC-SST Level check plug.
The service manual states that there are no ways of checking the level of the TC-SST without draining - measuring the amount (add if neccesary) and then fill it up again.
However, there seems to be a level check plug according to a Mitsubishi news letter:
Check attached photos:
Just above the sway bar in the first of my pictures, just below on the second one.
Photo from the Drivers side, the car is jacked up, so the swaybar is hanging a bit more than on Mitsubishis drawing.

So essentially its saying by removing the check bolt after doing a fluid change is not accurate. You need to measure the amount, replace fluid with same amount. remove bolt and top up fluid until the steady flow becomes drops.
Mind you... you get two jugs of 8L total. You put in 7L... leaves you 1L of fluid to do top up/level check. What are you gonna do with that 1L left over? save it until you do 7 more tranny fluid changes until you get a free one?

Hi there,
Did the newsletter mention anything about the fluid temp for opening the check level plug? According to a blog, the ford guys are supposed to open the level check plug when the fluid is around 50 degrees C.
