Sorry if this is clear, but Im not sure about something.

So FFL-2 is not the exact same fluid as SSTF-1, but a comparable replacment?

It seems...

SSTF-1 = RAVENOL
FFL-2 = ?

No, they are the same fluid. Both are made by Castrol.

I don't know the exact make up of their fluid, but they probably use ffl-4 as a base. Ffl-4 is used in the GT-R and Porsche DCTs

Well, I just spoke to SSP. Obviously it's a proprietary fluid made for them and it has better longevity/thermal viscosity etc.

Basically a better all around fluid than anything OEM but it comes at a price. 8L of SSP Gold is $400. Reusable filter at $100.

$500 for SSP.

He also said that the most important thing for the SST transmissions are regularly changing the fluid and cleaning the reusable filter (regardless of fluid, just changing it to new).

It's a delicate component the SST with many parts and it should be treated just like an engine. It's unfortunately costly to have to do an additional $250 (OEM fluid + reusable filter) $500 (SSP Gold + reusable filter) but I personally don't mind spending that to have some peace of mind.

I purchased one from this seller, it came from Canada in box with Ford markings on it but the sticker with the Ford part number was removed. It is the exact same filter though.

BUT prices vary from place to place!!!

EDIT: NAPA part # G052182A2 for FFL-2 and FFL3 # is FFL3...lol!!! Pentosin brand thru altrom chemicals.
