Yes, however, SSP brands them. Could be a problem with warranty.

Use this link. Their search is kinda crappy on their website. http://www.blauparts.com/proddetail....d=J1D2103%2D01

How likely is this? I was just going to buy through SSP because it's cheaper. =\

Not likely, but Ill spend that 20$ extra to possibly save 10k. You do what you want with your 10000 dollar transmission.

Do you only use the Diaqueen SSTF-1 then? I found the ebay seller with the OEM SST transmission filter. Thanks a bunch!

I did use the Diaqueen, but that was before the fluid listed in this thread was found. There were known alternatives but price difference wasn't much.

Not sure what I will use next time. I think I might use the SSP Gold.

So unless I'm missing something I'm looking at the exact same thing other than different bottle?

Quote: Ok let me get this straight. ..

Im convinced from razorlab's commenting and i've got the oem filter and I'm 98% on ffl2. My question is if it's a decent replacement does it last as long as diaqueen and are there any negatives to it besides the warranty issue with colour( that's already out the window for me ).

Will it also be just as usable for diaqueen if i take it to the drag strip once in a blue moon.

Thank you
I hate making a thread more confusing, but in the interest of knowing the truth, I must.

I recently stumbled on an interesting blurb on Jacks Transmissions site:

http://www.jackstransmissions.com/co...st-trans-fluid

They are probably the only reliable authority on the SST right now as they perform rebuilds and upgrades that nobody else is able to do. They know this transmission inside and out.

On the link they talk about the owner of the company searching for his own replacement of the Diaqueen fluid, but never found a true replacement as all other fluids(Castrol, Ebay fluids, and Pentosin) did not allow the tranissmission "to operate as it should".

I have two questions:

1. Is it possible that our collective research is wrong and Mistsu is in fact adding something proprietary to the fluid that we think it is sourced or based on?

2. Can Jacks Transmissions come forward with what you found and clear up this messy subject? What specific fluids were tested and what behaviors changed? I think the entire community would benefit from the testing you have done. I will be in contact to request this info.

I currently am running ffl-2, but I am seriously reconsidering that decision.

I'm running ffl-2 for 10k kms now. No weird issues yet. But I'll drain some to check if there's overheating this weekend. That would say alot instead of tearing the tranny apart

Just swapped to VW/Audi fluid today from FFL-4 to see if my weird surging problem in N and S mode goes away, it only appeared after I installed SSP 500hp clutches and seals and filled with FFL-4.......
Too early to tell as I'm guessing the plates are already soaked in FFL-4 and will require some driving before it seeps out..........

Jack responded to my email. He is already working on a write up of what he found. He said he would post his results.
