Hi all, I wanted to ask if anyone else experiences the noise on their MR when the car downshifts to first gear. I also hear two bangs at the time of starting the car, that also appear to be coming from the tranny. Curious if anyone else has similar noises.

 

It's tough to say about your specific noise, but the SST does make lots of different noises and they are all normal.
idle - clacking/rattling of clutch packs
shifting - clunking and sometimes a bang
driving - whining
etc

 

I hear clunking all the time when downshifting into 1st in my RA. Everyone says its normal

 

Clunking, clicking, sounds like crap's loose. Been doing that for 45000 miles. Still working fine.
