hey everyone,
this is the first evo i owned. i've had it since only last month. i just want to know whether these are normal things to expect in the 2012 MR.

1. if it is in park and i tap on the brakes, i feel and hear a click near the shifter.

2. if i put in revere or drive and i tap on the brakes right away, i hear click or clunk noise also.

3. when shift gears, when i accelerate from dead stop and decide to shift from 2nd to 3rd to quick to drop my RPM, i doesnt shift up sometimes (lower RPM around 3k)

4. took it easy to almost 1k miles, im at 1.6k. im planning to flush out the oil at 3k (mobil 1 5w-30). would there be any mechanical harm to drive past 5k RPM until the 3k oil change?

Well the click when it's in park is just the mechanism that locks the shifter in park disengaging.

As for it not shifting up when you try to under 3k rpm, it probably wont have the RPM to keep the motor running when you are doing that, so it doesn't let you.

 

The factory-fill oil is fine until the recommended 5k change interval. Drive the car how ever you want; have fun
