Jack's transmission

So for the sake of covering all basis, and the fear of being screwed by the stealership I am asking this question. I am curious if anyone has had any repairs/rebuilds with Jacks transmission repair out of Colorado? I would like to know pros, cons, and any other info that could be important to bring up.

Backstory behind this is the wife was driving the X and the car went into limp mode. After getting it scanned at the stealership, there was a trouble code for the 4th gear shift fork (dont have the specific code on hand atm). I did some digging and found that this code has been coming up randomly on many MR/RA's and the stealership reaction is to just replace the tranny. The typical cause, from what I have found, is the seals used in the tranny's are not what you would call top notch, and they begin leaking causing the shift fork pistons to not actuate correctly. Correct me if I am going off of the wrong information........

Bottom line, if I have to eat the cost of replacing the tranny (2nd vehical owner and have not had very good luck with dealerships honoring their warrenties) I would rather pay 4k for a upgraded rebuild then 10k for a tranny that may or may not have the same issue randomly.

Car currently has 45k miles on it.
Thanks

The only thing I can tell you is that Jack's is a quality outfit. You will find numerous reviews on here about their tranny, transfer case, and diffs builds. Now, I haven't seen much about their SST work but I'm sure it is of the same quality if you have to go down that road. Good luck!

Buy the Dodson Clubsport package and have Jack's do the work. Done.

Stealership found that the ECU was reprogrammed before I owned the car, denied warrenty. No surprise there. However, they are telling me the Reflash caused the SST issues and that they could not reflash the car back to stock because it wouldnt fix the problem.

Looks like I will be shipping a tranny in the next few months......

You prefer the Dodson over the SSP ones?

Its funny when dealerships deny warrenty work for bs reasons then you go else where to get it fixed. Kinda backfires on them and they dont get money from you.

I got a Jacks built TC. Still breaking it in. So far sounds a lot less noisy than the one I had to replace.
