Question ABS Delete and SST

Hey guys.

been searching the web with no definite answer regarding the ABS deactivation on EVO X with SST.

Will the SST work properly if the ABS hydraulics are disconnected (and aftermarket race pedal assembly with its own non-ABS master brake cylinder/bias are installed)?

Thanks!

you cant disconnect properly the EVo USA editions. Only solution would be to get an RS ecu or some motorsport one , like Gems -Pectel - Motec etc..
Now how that would work with the SST I have no idea.

The Evo reads many things from the ABS like speed individually from each wheel . SO you will have a hard time without getting a new ECU set up.

but I am still not sure how that would work with the tranny ECU

In my case we are to disconnect hydraulics only and leave electric connectors plugged so the ECU can see each wheel speed. Then it will try to utilize ABS strategy with no luck since no pressure in ABS hydraulics. Meanwhile the brake system will be standalone with racing pedals and master cyldinders.

Will it go crazy in this case when ABS understands that it has no pressure?

Try it and find out. Launch control won't work with some ABS and ASC faults, but the transmission works otherwise.

So the SST operation will remain the same?

the whole system should go to limp mode.

As of now, this can't be done. Very unfortunate. There is a possible mechanical work around, but we haven't tested it. The problem stems from the fact that the SST uses data from the ABS module. So you can't just power it off.

I still have my ABS module in my rally car with no ABS. Mainly reading speed only from the wheels individually.

Do you have an SST transmission?

Deleting the ABS on a 5 speed car is pretty simple. It's the SST cars that aren't simple.
